Title: Nek-Tek...a little CBF preview
Post by: Ayrtek Cricket on January 03, 2016, 10:16:09 AM
Little forum exclusive preview of what we've been working on with the Nek-Tek product. Materials wise it will obviously be constructed of a high impact absorbent foam with additional protection in the areas deemed vulnerable.

In our own special way we wanted to push the boundaries of what's possible with the look and finish of them if people want to add their own mark.

We should have 1st iteration samples finished shortly that I'll upload some actual pics of for viewing.

They will be attached to the grille via a Velcro system taking on the Stretton Fox thigh pad type method.

Keep an eye out for a pre-order discount that were looking to roll out for those interested in purchasing the product.

@rich041187 they should fit other helmets as well but the shape is designed to marry up with the contour of the Ayrtek/Adidas shells primarily.

Using the Velcro attachment method allows the option to fit it to other helmets as well as it will wrap around the grille sections.

Would a Nek-Tek already built in be a viable option?  I presumed the whole clip on idea was a short-term solution.

From the perspective of having it a part of the shell made from a rigid material I think it would be difficult to integrate without restricting the range of movement of the batsmen. You could integrate something into the liner that's similar but again it's difficult to cater for everyone in one design.

The Nek-Tek design also attaches to the shell of the helmet at the central rear section to ensure it doesn't move around and sits securely in place if ever called into action.

Wow that look as if you have spent months designing them!

Need to confirm this once we have an idea of production time etc obviously depending upon stock or custom option but aiming for the £25-£30 marker at RRP.

Wonder if they will be ok with my Albion grill and Ayrtek helmet

I'll have a play around once I've got the 1st samples back in hand and try them out....just need to locate all the sample helmets first!
