Ok so i lost my mallet about 3 years ago and havn't had one since.
Now i never normally knock any of my bats in i just use them.
But obv they some times break and im not keen on netting with a new bat at indoor nets with people using rock hard balls and hard floors.
So after a decent mallet anybody got any suggestions ?
Cheers
Simmy

What's your budget mate?
There's oak ones for £30 or Lignum Vitae (or however you spell it) ones for £70 on eBay. I believe they're made to order so you get a choice of shapes.
-
70 quid? sod that
lol 30 bit more reasonable but still a fair wack lol
-
I'm using a GN Duluxe, not the heaviest but it's ok and much cheaper..
-
The GN Deluxe one works fine for me
-
I got a gn deluxe, some sports direct specials and a stupidly heavy lv mallet.
Lv mallet may seem extreme at 70quid, but eithe the amount of bats I go through, and it's ability to get a 4 hr knock in down to an hour. It's a godsend imo.
If you have time the gn deluxe mallet is more than enough

The 10 quid ones off eBay are very good.

I normally use the GN deluxe model, followed by the Oak and then finish off with the Lignum. To be honest you could probably get away with the GN deluxe and Oak mallets only as long as you are prepared to spend the time knocking your bats in.
-
Echo the GN deluxe comments, there are similar available for under a tenner. I've found the short handled stubby ones are the best.

My 800 gram LV Hercules creams ash or oak mallets. Les at Elivar's Shed is the man. Mind you i knock in one bat a week and the mallet has paid for itself. No effort, hard knock, no cracks everytime.

ordered one of them looks same as the GN mallet.
for how much i'm gonna use it given that i never normally knock bats in sure it will be fine.

GN short handle ones work fine. I use a stable base made of old pillows to rest the bat on when hitting with this mallet, I can get a longer and effective knocking session without tiring my arms.

Just go steady with the Puma Mallet, it does the job but I found that the head started to come loose when I used mine for the first time yesterday. Persevered with it, then glued it once I'd finished. Seems solid now.
Second the pillows idea, can hardly pick up my left arm today realising pillows would have been a good idea after 4 hours of knocking in...

Interesting to read the comments about the Puma mallet, picked up one myself from eBay and when it arrived the head had come totally loose! Bit of gorilla glue sorted it, seems to do the job nicely enough now...
-
GN deluxe mallet is a good option if you are knocking your own bats and if you tend to knock very less bats every year.
If you tend to carry a huge stock of bats or knock the bats for your friends etc then you might want to check LV mallet.

There's also a bat knocking in machine if you're interested Simon. 😀
I had an email from someone today as it goes.
