George has all but finished the 1st samples of the product and as such we are now ready to take pre-orders for anyone wishing to secure themselves the 1st batch off the production line.
There are 2 options as detailed in the link belo on our website:-
http://www.ayrtek.com/product/nek-tek/ (http://www.ayrtek.com/product/nek-tek/)
-
Have you got any pictures of the finished samples at all?
-
@neoncricket ill get some up as soon as the samples reach me of one on a helmet.
-
Cheers, no doubt I'll be putting an order in for one soon
-
No probs Adam, I've got pics of my blue peter sample I made up to pin down the size, shape and fit but would much rather share images of the finished article once Foxy has finessed its aesthetic finish 😜
-
Tom, you made one especially for me! #fergie
-
haha just showcasing whats viable if you opt for the custom option.....Foxy knocked those up though so Im afraid I cant take the credit :)
-
Look forward to seeing the actual product. Seems a great idea and definitely something I'm interested in!
-
Caught up with Dr Foxy today to review the product now it's near completion. As you'd expect with Gerogees skills it looks great and functions as desired too.
With same protection level and the ability to shape it like the thigh pads to the contour you desire we looking forward to getting the 1st batch out to those that have pre-ordered ASAP 👍
-
Just out of interest.
Is this made from thigh pad materials or from headkayse materials??
-
Smilley! good question! Hi everyone
In a nutshell (sorry couldn't resist!) you want to use materials according to the risk involved, so here we need to look at the mass/volume of objects with relation to our heads, That ball needs to be stopped, avoid any penetration and deformity and then get rid of it asap so we need to look at thigh pad technology rather than Headkayse/Enkayse which is mainly for when you come into massive mass (head onto the curb/floor) and more of a deceleration / cushion effect.
So, Stretton Fox tech in these does nicely! theres some preview pics on their way to Arytek and a short video popping up soon)
-
Thanks Foxy..
For those asking here's a couple of snaps of NekTek 001.
The interior uses the soft velcro loop material and as per the thigh pads the NekTek can be shaped to the users diesire fit and can also be machine washed if it gets a bit grubby from use.

Foxy has kindly done a sneak preview video as well so you can get a bit more of a feel for what it offers.

Cracking stuff, order en-route shortly!
-
looks good. cant wait to get mine :)
-
Here's a look at how the #NekTek fits to the Helmet, covering the areas of concern behind the ears and lower neck region.
If you do wish to pre-order you can do so through our webshop, we are anticipating the 1st batch to be ready by the end of the month.

Hi Tom, spare me one please, thanks
-
@ridhuan no problems, I'll get a quote for delivery to you and let you know 👍
-
Little update on these, Foxy is completing the 1st batch towards the end of this week so those that have pre-ordered should have them prior to the end of the month and certainly before Feb as noted on the website.
If others wish to order then you can do so via the website and it will help us to cater to demand going forward.
-
Are you able to post pics of this piece of protection on other helmets or are you not able to do this?
-
@liscon12 I haven't actively gone out and purchased all the competitor helmets this time around, @Vitas Cricket will have his Nek-Tek shortly and maybe able to answer this question though.
I've got @roco helmet that has an Albion grille on it so I'll try one on there but it would mean peeling off a section of the ear pads to thread the Velcro through.
-
I'm sure they'll be loads of pics on here soon enough, I'm happy to wait :)
-
your going to do what to me helmet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
feel free to take something off mate as I can put it back on when I get it back
-
Couple more snaps now I've had the chance to fit one properly...
With the rigid shaped "outer shell" this would form the 1st line of defense should an impact occur, in the same method to the Foxy Thigh Pads work to dampen a blow. The soft inner foam then dissipates the force whilst not transmitting it to the wearer's neck. Giving it a bend and hold for 1-15 seconds is advisable once received as they may getc flattened when being posted. I think they follow the contour of the shell pretty well but then I am slightly biased :D

-
how do they feel when the helmet is on?
Particularly on the neck?
-
Range of movement isnt effected when ive got it on which was obviously a design aspect I wanted to maintain and avoid restricting.
They use a semi-rigid foam so it wont dig into your neck causing any discomfort too if you happen to be looking up etc moving the shell of the helmet towards your neck.
The interior material is the loop velcro type thats soft feel so wont irritate you (even with your hairy neck @roco ;) )
-
Gosh, lovely Tom, can't wait yo receive mine!
-
Great stuff
I look forward to receiving it (at least it will get wife off my back for a while)
-
@ridhuan As soon as the 1st production batch reaches me ill get it en route to you :D
-
Thanks Tom
-
1st production batch has reached me today so they will be packaged up and dispatched tomorrow to those CBF members that have ordered.
Once again thanks for your support with the product and if you have any issues with them please contact @StrettonFox Sports or myself and we'd be happy to help.
Cheers
Tom

Glad it reached you promptly, hopefully fairly straight forward in terms of fitting it to your lid. Dont be afraid to give it a good flex to shape it as you wont break it!

Yours is taking loner as your not having a stock version as you've always got to be different lol, lid is nearly sorted too as looked at that this morning too.
-
Who wants to be the same as everyone else?
I never complained about waiting as leaving things to the fox's imagination to create something for me
I said no rush when I sent everything in as I know your busy man (when not in the pub that is)
Away in France with work next week anyway so won't be here when it arrives
-
now who's the one on a booze cruise to fill the boot up with bier blonde ???
-
It's hard work drinking wine and getting paid for it 😜😜😜

Quick q, where would the central piece of Velcro be attached at the rear on an ACIS model?
-
Quick q, where would the central piece of Velcro be attached at the rear on an ACIS model?
Andy, if it one of the later ones thats Velcro fixed in the in theory the central Tab on the Nek-Tek should sandwich between the rear block and the shell with the block then velcro fixing ontop again.
Give me 2 mins ill grab a helmet and snap a demo pic or 2.
-
No probs, that's what I had thought - I just need to trim about 5mm off as it overlaps slightly with pump button. Thought I'd double check before I did!
-
Few snaps below, you may need to flip the Velcro around code pending on the hook/loop combo but hopefully easy enough to solve.

That bits not on mine is it Tom?

Andy, Yeah i went down the route of I'd rather over supply velcro that supply not enough so it can be trimmed to fit.
-

It should be on all of them as it will help to centrally anchor the guard against the shell so its in the correct position should it be called into action. Last thing you'd want it the ball squeezing between the gap of the guard and shell so this was the method we have used to help the two marry together.
-
Thanks for that, ended up doubling the Velcro over so it will also fit my EPS version too! To be fair, once shaped the need for the middle strap of Velcro seems pretty limited as it's solid with just the side straps.
Nice piece of kit, hopefully will be lucky enough not to find out if it works :)
-
I meant that part of the helmet as never noticed it
-
Yes it would have it mate.
-
Well I need to open my eyes then as had it 4/5 years and never notice that
-
mine arrived today and looks really good.
if i dont get a new job next week i'll be ordering at least one more.

I really like mine
It looks really strong and the fact it can be bent into shape is really helpful
Couple of bit picky things however:
1: the cloth covering is slightly uneven on the top where it sits against the helmet on mine, so there is a small light gap on one side
(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01/22/148bd1cf579b1662c0a3ee5cb2c8a453.jpg)gap on one side
(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01/22/1d79b77cd4cd74d717f24d03bbf31ea8.jpg)cloth overlaps with the top of the helmet on the other
Also with the Velcro tab in the middle it doesn't really work with the traditional padded Ayrteks, so to remedy this I had to add some more of my own Velcro
This is because the tab has the harder side of the Velcro on, and this clashes with the harder Velcro that attaches the padding to the helmet. This also means that there is no place to attach the pad, so I had to use an extra piece of Velcro with adhesive on one side:
(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01/22/627539678b3895d673d69380440e1b06.jpg)there you can see the extra piece of Velcro sticking out in the middle.
All in all however it looks and feels really solid, and although I hope I never need it I think I will definitely be safer using it

Thanks Ben
Have u tried twisting it to even it up and marry up better?
They are a working progress with the finishing as I'm sure you'll appreciate they are all currently made by hand so a bit like a hand made bat small variations may occur. I'll look at the Velcro issue as well tomorrow and see if we can come up with a better method.
-
Ahh didn't think about twisting it
Yeh I understand the hand made thing, nothing wrong with it, just a teeny bit playing up on my ocd

Few photos of a non-professional fitting!
I have an aversion to it flaring out so spent some time shaping it, thinks it needs a bit more at one of the edges but otherwise it's pretty flush.

Fresh batch of Nek-Teks from the Fox due in next week, get your order in now if you want one as they are moving as fast as Foxy can make them 😀
-
Received mine yesterday Tom, but confuse how to install it at first, not a handyman type myself, manage to install it last nite, look so simple n foxy, will be using it during T20 match today, thanks Tom
-
@ridhuan yeh working on doing a video but I had to sent the last sample I had out to the MCL today for Tino so until the new batch arrives I'm a little stuck for anything to demo with 😳
-
I did a small review and heaps of pics for my Facebook page.

@Ayrtek Is there a vid yet? Received mine today and can't work out how the middle tab connects properly...
-
@Calzehbhoy I'll find out how George got on making one, I'm not an expert in front of the camera I'm afraid but will get something uploaded ASAP if he's not done one.
-
Cheers @Ayrtek , I've done most of it, just can't work out how to get the middle tab on without it leaving half the tab out the helmet.
-
Can only get it looking like this, to me the tab is on the wrong side??
-
Yeah thats how I've fitted them in order to anchor it centrally in place when sending them out to our Pro's.
Were looking at creating a channel so it slots between the EPS liner and the shell going forward, I know some members have attached it to the outer shell as well as they preferred this fit.
-
yeah I think I might stick it to the outside, to me if the tab is going to be that side it has to go outside on the shell. To attach it inside the tab should be on the other side of the Nek-Tek.
-
Anyone used one on a Masuri Vision series ? Can you upload a pic ?
-
If you check our Instagram there's a few pics on there of them on various helmets.

Yes Jake @Vitas Cricket fitted one to an old model he had in store. 👍
