So, with me having a bit more free time now, just figured I'd try catch up with a bunch of bat write ups!
Here's some pics:

Specs:
Weight - 2lb 10.07oz
Edge - 35mm
Spine - Approx 55mm
Shoulder - 15mm
Toe Edge - 20mm
Toe - 28mm
Handle - Oval
Concaving - Minimal
The dimensions themselves aren't massively impressive, however you can see that the wood is distributed pretty evenly across the entire blade. One thing I feel that more recent H4L bats have had is a thicker shoulder, and not much wood taken from the splice area, which definitely helps with pick up. The shallow concave throughout most of the bat and thick toe gives you a bat with a very evenly spread hitting zone - ideal for me as I seem to hit the ball just about everywhere but the middle when batting these days! The response throughout the bat is superb too, even though the spine isn't very high, the middle on this is really lovely, on par with my G2 Warbird. The handle is a nice shape, and probably on thinner side, but not overly thin. The bow on this bat is quite noticeable, but nothing aggressive, which is nice and should help with the lofted drives!
Onto the looks, I reckon you could argue that this bat was probably 1 grain away from being a G1 - it looks a pretty decent G2! The finishing seems to have taken another step forward from last season, it really is exceptional. The stickers are also lovely, with the chrome and texturing really making a big difference on how the bat looks, especially closer up! I've also noticed that the yellow and red (Hellfire) stand out quite a bit more in this years range, which looks really good for this Hattori.
All in all, big thanks to Paul and Chris at IJC! Chris was really prompt at answering any questions, and as always, would recommend dealing with IJC. Always have a good selection of bats, and in light of the recent stance against stocking M&H, one of their best-selling brands, you are guaranteed to be dealing with a business that won't compromise on their integrity. :) Oh, and they do certainly pick a good bat!

That is stunning Chad hope it goes well for you

Now I wish i had asked for pics of Hattori as well when I asked for Hellfire that was on sale :-[...Good looking bat Chad.

Looks class that!

For what possible reason is this one labelled as G2 :D ?
-
Excellent example of some very generous grading I think
-
You can't mention M&H in the same post as one of matts lovely creations!
Stunning bat for grade 2 and love that profile as well, especially for the weight

This bat doesn't have equally spaced grains - that's the only reason for which this could be marked as G2.
-
wow..great profile
-
Love bats with thick shoulders and I wonder how can this be classified as G2..
H4L at it's best..

While i think that's a cracking looking G2 bat, I can't help but think it it was a different brand and sold as Grade 1 that people would be grumbling that it shouldn't be a grade one. ;)
-
This is half the battle with bats these days
One mans grade two would be someone else's grade one or pro performance etc
Personally, I love h4l,s grading as it means you get a bat that will perform just as good as any other grade bat, but just at a much lower price point.
It's a shame a lot of other bat suppliers don't follow suit.
Paul aldred has a similar outlook in that his butterfly bats etc, get the same input, in regards to care of pressing etc and finish as his top graded bats.
I'm as bad as everyone regarding looks etc, but at the end of the day, performance of the bat is my main request when buying bats.
I've got three Devils on the way from h4l, all stunning bats

Yep. Don't get it sometimes; as much as grading is subjective, that's a lovely grade two but clearly not a top grade bat.

Hell 4 Leather is a great brand name too...has a lyrical quality to it...

are you on mushrooms?
-
Yup, cracking profile, just very evenly distributed all round the blade. The pick up is nice, and the performance is better than the Hellfire G1 I have, so goes to show that a higher grade doesn't always equate to a better performance! Echo the thoughts that it's a good G2, like I said, probably a grain away from being graded a G1!

Is this an attempt at a Haiku? ???

Small knot on the face at about 12cm from toe and a few cms from the right-handers inside = G2?
Beaut nonetheless!
