Title: little big gem!!
Post by: Khan on January 08, 2016, 05:21:55 PM
Hi all. Hope you all had a good Xmas and new year. So before Christmas I decided to email John about making me a bat. After seeing some of the bats he has made on here recently it was a no brainer especially after seeing uknsaunders monstrosity made me want one more. I gave John licence to make me something

The bat is incredible. Probably the best bat that I have had since my big kahuna it has been 8 years since I used that and have had loads of bats in between. Can't compare it to my Woodstock as that was just silly and weighed a fair bit more than this. It pings well of the mallet and using an old ball can't wait to use this in the nets.
I Can't recommend John enough in terms of service and finished product. He really does produce some nice bats.

I'll do a detailed review once I've used the bat :).

Thanks khan

Yeah it's nice.
41mm edge
63mm spine

Weight I'm little unsure off. Kookaburra I have is 2lb 10.5 and this feels a lot lighter and is bigger  but it's so well balanced could be due to the duck billed toe.

What are the specs of yours if you don't mind me asking

No concaving but it was a harrow length with the shoulders less square

Hope it plays well for you

Top stuff again from John. Love seeing that all his bats have different profiles as per the requests he receives. And the positive comments from the owners confirm that he is an excellent bat maker.
