New Balance are also developing a sensor to go into cricket bats, through the top of the handle, in association with Zepp. Could be a big thing.

What's the point in this Tom?

Theoretically it could analyse your stroke, say whereabouts on the bat you hit the ball, share your batspeed and monitor the power you have put in a shot.

It's used in Tennis and Golf ATM.

Seem to be investing in the sport which can only be a good think if it feeds through down to grass root level via ECB sponsorship

NB are going to have a serious market share with the kit gheyre putting out. Even my dad thinks he needs the latest NB spikes, even though his ankles are shot to pieces and needs specialist trainers!

I wonder if the England boys are as excited about the NB trousers as some of our CBF members!

The clue is in the part where it says "adidas 5 year contract with the ECB still has ONE year still to run" 👍

I'm going out on a limb and saying 2017.

Does mention early termination though, I wonder if NB would be ready from the off. Probably not...

Kit designs will already be in place for WCT20 etc as the work 6-9 months in advance of the current market with the amount of products they develop.

Ahh skipped that bit. All england players wearing NB shoes next year then adidas cricket falling as quickly as woodworm? Their bats are awful and all i recognise them for now are their shoes.

Footwear is adidas core market so I think you'll see them to continue with that market in cricket.

Understandable, but can imagine all the boys and girls turning around to mum and dad and demanding the same boots as the rest of the england lot

And yet all the recent governing body research seems to suggest participation levels are on the decrease.

Was talking to a rep of one of the big name cricket retailers this week he seemed to think Adidas was bringing out  a new England kit in 2016.

They will be. If you read the info given in the thread and article it's obvious they are.

Adidas still have a year left on the contract(therefore new balance take over in 2017)

Ayrtek have already said adidas work 9months in advance(I.e this years kit is already designed and ready to go into shops)
