Title: One for my kit this year
Post by: tushar sehgal on January 11, 2016, 01:25:48 AM
Got this one today so thought I'll share with you all. Haven't tapped the ball on it yet or tried the mallet but the sheer size of it for the weight is pretty impressive.

Got this from one the main distributors of BAS bats in Canada, was in the pile of bats marked for the national team players and I am not doubting that this was indeed meant for a better player than I am. Grade wise it's borderline grade two, if it didn't have some marks on the face then it would have been a G1.

Came with a story that this is a test bat, as in designed for player to test out and if they like it then they can provide more and if they don't then shape can be tweaked etc.

Weight 2lb 9oz
Edge 41mm
Spine 67mm
Absolutely zero concaving without being convex and pretty thick toe

Now the pics, also some comparison with the B3 Mullanator which has an edge of about 42-43mm and same spine height

Wow that's amazing
BAS does make top quality bats.
How can you resist and not tap a ball on it before taking pics ;)
That's the first thing i do after opening a package :)

I am sure us forum members have equally good bats as test players or may be in some cases even better ;)

Kids were being put to bed after what we would call a "slight" meltdown by the time I got to the bat, Anyways she was oiled up last night and will most like meet the ball & mallet today.

Great bat Tushar. I always liked BAS bats..better than SS or SG for that matter. If you do not mind can you tell how much you paid for this beauty?

And from what I found out about the price the hole in your wallet be massive too...about 250 GBP...

Was given a range of $400 to $510 Canadian dollars as the currency is struggling right now, 1GBP is about 2.07 CAD

Basically the top range bat from BAS.

In INR its around 25,000
SG sunny legend, Ton reserve edtion are in same range
SS gladitor is a little bit more expensive than this.

Atleast its not placed in the so called "Pro" range which is being sold at 350 gbp plus by some stores.

Ahh good to know, still 250 GBP for what is called G2 is ludicrous...now it may ping well and is definitely big bat but prices are crazy!!

Lovely bat that Tushar, always fancied a BAS but never actually owned one all the ones in UK seem to be 2.12 and above, love that profile mate hope goes well for you.

Not sure if your bat is G2. It has clean willow and straight grains.

The other day crown cricketer posted this G1 BAS players - dolphin toe bat.
It's for 27,000 INR

Thanks guys.  I find it interesting that there aren't many lighter BAS bats out there most times here BAS ones are too light for me. I was thinking it might be too dry but it still hasn't soaked up the one coat of oil I applied last night

If anyone wants a light one let me know I can try to find it for you. Keep in mind shipping from here is not fun

Amit I am grading mine as G2 coz of the marks/blemishes on the face. Tried the rebound today after wiping the oil off the face and it feels pretty good, softer pressed compared to B3 but B3 feels more ready to play BAS needs knocking

BAS BOW 20-20 bat are sold for about USD 275 & BAS Player edition bats are sold for about USD 330. Friend of mine had checked the prices during his recent India trip and he mentioned Amazon India had the best price.

Problem with BAS is that their offerings are totally unclear. Their website lists only BAS Bow 20-20, Exploder and few other bats. Coming to your bat this would definitely qualify for an entry level G1. Don't take me in the wrong way, but i don't think this bat is better than BAS BOW 20-20 or BAS player edition.

BAS has changed their range this year for the America region.
The Titus LE will be the top of the range followed by Titus and Bow 20/20 L.E . There is no Shadow or Exploder in the range this year for us in the US.
It is followed by DUX666, Valor and aggressor.

Excited to see the offerings in flesh in the coming weeks.

BAS site wont be updated for a while , what do you want to know ?

Correction on previous post...Titus L.E & Bow 20 L.E will be the top two bats followed by Titus and bow 20 regular and then DUX666.

I believe Titus L.E IS 400 USD, BOW 20 LE is 350 USD  or thats what i will be selling them at from next week.
Titus is 350 and Bow 20 is 300 and so on pretty much with a 50 USD difference as you keep going lower.

How about the BAS split finger gloves ? Have they updated Bow 20-20 glove model ?

Not sure if i can share images yet so am going to wait till i hear back but the Bow 20 model looks to be the same from last year with a couple cosmetic changes...the Titus and DUX666 have very interesting look to them so will do a review when i receive them.

Looking forward to the review ... I recently had a chance to use my friend's BAS players edition split finger gloves. They were top notch and very flexible. I didn't get the same feel when i used their BAS players (white/blue) sausage style gloves ...

Don't tell me you were in Toronto... :o

Having seen these bats few weeks ago, I can safely say they are very nice bats. Really well balanced and good pick-up. Good profile as well.

Certainly a good buy!

Awesome, Manish has a big warehouse and has lots of bats. But keeps the good ones on one side, not that he know me very well but he is clever. Lol!

Have texted you regarding that.

Didnt know Manish was doing retail....either way we get it straight from the factory as shipping from canada is not optimum and Manish does not have the full range for our orders.

What a cracker! I'm a huge fan of BAS, even though I've never properly used mine! Got a Players Edition on the way, hopefully that will be on of the last to add to the vast collection! :D

Actually you can just set up a meeting and visit his warehouse, it's not like a retail store.

Thansk Uzair i have spoken to Manish before many times :)

Logistics for us in the US work better ordering straight from the factory, also its a good feeling when you know bats are made per your order.
