Hello all,
A little news to begin 2016. We decided to stock Chase this season, as they fitted in with our philosophy, and they very much impressed us at the Lord's Trade Show over the past couple of years.
We visited their factory in Dummer's Farm in Hampshire just before Christmas for the first time, and were very impressed with the whole set up. Daniel and his team are very passionate and professional, and that comes across in their stunning bats.
We only picked four bats this time - (showing even more how much we care about every single bat we stock that we take a full day out and train expenses just to pick four bats!) I've attached photos of all four. The Harrow FLC (the bat on its own) has sold, but we have all the other three in SH still in stock.
The stickers have changed for 2016 (I think for the better!) but no change to shapes. The Lancer bat has been discontinued and they have a new Platinum bat which we are very impressed with. We reserved a Platinum cleft when we were there, but it still needed a fair bit of work, so we will post about that one when we get it in stock!
The FLC SH bat was picked from an unshaped handled cleft and then Dan finished the shaping, ran it under the press and sanded it in front of our very eyes, which was quite cool! Photos of this bat making plus some general shots in and around the factory can be found on our FB page here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.933069656729177.1073741843.267632753272874&type=3. We've got a lot of stuff to come from Chase - middling bats, softs etc. We are genuinely very excited about this one and are looking forward to reviewing them.
Great to chat cricket and bats with Dan and his team - and to find another brand which believes as strongly in our philosophy as we do!
I've attached some photos below, I really think their bat boxes are cool as well - little touches are very much valued in an industry like ours!
Check out the bats on our website here - http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/chase-m64. (http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/chase-m64.) Weights to suit most people!

Just a little nit pick, it's Dummer not Drummer! ;)
I've always been a fan of Dan's work as he's my local bat maker, but I have to say I prefer the older style stickers. Since the R series bats they haven't quite had the same traditional feel to them (but the proof is in the pudding, and once you use one the performance will make you forget about the stickers)

That white one is very, very pleasant to look at..

I remember dropping by your shop a couple of years ago and remember you had some FLC gloves in stock. Did you stop stocking Chase for a while CBD?
-
Sorry - auto correct!
Yes - that was at the very early stages of us.
We have corrected our errors now and got them back in stock!

Super. They are a great brand.

That harrow is a stunning looking blade! I've always thought Chase bats to look very classy and that's not changed over the years.

By the way @ItsJustCricket the link to your website isn't quite right. This one gets you there http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/chase-m64 (http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/chase-m64)

Great to see you stocking Chase for 2016, they're absolute class and make stunningly good bats. Still prefer the old stickers though.

Great write up and pictures Chris. Ex sri lankan pro at my previous club still used his Chase even though it was just holding together. Loved it.

I popped in to Chase back in August on my way to cricket tour. I was picking up some items from our club's clothing supplier next door and spotted the Chase factory and thought I'd try my luck by poking my head round the door. Bumped in to Dan who dropped what he was doing and immediately gave me (and my girlfriend!) a tour around his workshop. We ended up staying there for almost an hour!
He's a really great chap and the set up he has down there is fantastic. The bats all looked amazing and if I wasn't on my way to a £400 weekend I certainly would have treated myself to a new stick. As it was I came away with a padded bat cover that was an absolute steal at about £12.
I spoke to Paul last time I was at IJC and he mentioned he was off down to Chase, it's great that you guys are working together now.

Are they still using a knocking in machine to pre-prepare all their bats? I've got a Volante from last year that doesn't look or feel like it has been on a machine....

What's a girlfriend and how do I get it to do cricket stuff?
