Title: Helmet Repair
Post by: MD2812 on January 20, 2016, 01:31:49 PM
The polystyrene lining from my Albion helmet has come loose, and is now easily removed, from the helmet.

It looks like it was glued in originally with a hot glue gun. Is that best to use for repairing it? Do I need to worry about temperateure melting the polystyrene?

If the middle of your helmet has come out that could be a good indication it's time to replace it...

I used spray on impact adhesive when I glued mine  ;)

@MD2812 glue gun will be fine to secure it back in place as polystyrene is usually steam formed at high temps  which the glue gun isn't going to get above.

Thanks guys!

Helmet has only done 1 season so don't want to replace it, it hasn't been hit. Most damage it gets is being thrown about when I'm keeping stood up at 1 end

Will get the hot glue gun out, post photos of I remember.
