Thanks...you probably saved me some $$$. I have the GN Legends, but with this damn blizzard outside, have no choice but to sit online and click on items I don't need!

Stay safe in East Coast of America, it looks pretty bad.

Honestly, Newbery SPS pads are really not on par with Legends. I had given away mine to someone, Legends are by FAR most comfortable traditional style pads I have ever worn.

Newbery SPS pads look great but aren't as light or comfortable as Legends.

It would be interesting to see some actual weights of pads on here.
Having looked at a couple of online reviews (by IJC). They show GN Legends at 852gms per pad,
GN Prestige at 926gms per pad and
GN Supernova 900 at 860gms.
Does anyone else want to chime in with the actual weight of their pads?

David

PRYZM Cricket pads are just under 760g each. No heavy cane in them with top level protection.

Shax12 and Raza147, it would be interesting to know the actual weights per pad - if you happen to have access to any kitchen scales...

Best wishes,

David

Really interested too.
Being old, lazy and no longer in charge of my legs, lighter pads would be a boon to my running between the wickets

Any forum sponsors with any offers also would be most welcome ?ha

Don't think you can look beyond SS Test pads.

Don't think you can look beyond SS Test pads.

I see lot of top reviews for the SS Test Opener but I found them to be quite bulky, very thick from leg to outside of pad, almost hindering my running. The top hat was quite wide and didnt wrap around as well, with the two leg top hats touching each other when I walk/run. Also the instep was too hard almost hurting top of my foot but it could be because the ones I tried were new. Protection was good though and weight around 830 grams.

Suprises me Adb, I find them the comfiest pads I've ever worn and the protection is second to none at the weight.

Maybe they get better when used a little. The one I checked was brand new so that could be the reason I felt them quite hard/not comfy. Protection is quite good can be seen though.
