So I have a net tomorrow and want to us my new net bat. So was prepping it(I.e putting my grip set up on) and decide to take pics and do a quick review.
So this is one of @Blank Bats net bats. A bargain at 95 delivered.
Was gutted when the first lot appeared and was too light, so as soon as some heavier ones dropped I was like bam. Pm sent I'm having that.
Pics were of it naked and it weighed 2.12.
On arrival it had a grip(ripple) stickers(the back one lets it down), a toe guard and a scuff with edge tape.
It worth a 2.14 3 bang on my weight!! Woohoo
Now as it was advertised as a net bat and pretty cheap at 95 I wasn't expecting it to come with more than a grip maybe stickers.
I don't run toe guards and I prefer a different type of scuff so was a little gutted, but nothing that is detrimental to the bat. And to be fair for the money blank bats are supplying a hell of a lot for the money. A bargain to be had for anyone out there.
Anyway some pics.

Verdict on the bat itself. I took it out the box and thought wow! This is a big bat. Now I know you think "but it weighs 2.14 course it's big". Well in this price range(and above to be honest) a lot of heavy bats can still be very concaved. This is full profile bat, could say convex.
Nice grains, not to many blemishes. Pretty nice for a net bat.
Specs are
42 MM edge
63mm spine.
No concaving.
Pick up is nice, is describe it as a mid to low middle. But with a slight duckbill which helps.
This pic shows middle, vs super low Toro and super high Warner kaboom.

Overall for the money I am very happy and very impressed.
I'm off for a net in the morning so I will report in performance and ping then, maybe even supply a video. Just don't expect proper cricket shots.
Holla
-
Have to say it looks bloody impressive for a £95 net bat.... I was expecting an ugly duckling with knots all over it
-
Thanks for the review Chris. I'd be interested to hear how it goes in the nets
-
@Blank Bats , do you have any net bats in high middle -Amplus shape? 2-12 single grip, no stickers? Big bow as well.
-
I expect this would be a match bat for most!! (depending on performance)
-
IT the bow won't be an Asian big bow, take a look at my post in the in Amplus thread for bow example.
I'll check for you.

So used it this morning. And an very impressed.
Firstly the weight and pick up are spot on, and with a chevron and octupus Grip it feels superb in my hands.
Secondly, I'm impressed with the he build, although this may mean it's a tad hard and needs work to open up, but there is no Sean dents, no edge damage or anything after my net, and when you see the video you'll see I didn't take it steady.
Ping? Well was using bola balls which ping off everything, but you can tell when the middle was found, and there was no sign at all off any vibrations through the handle. Very very impressed.
And now the net, this was my second bucket, speed at 72mph, no I don't take bowling machines serious, I was wanting to hit everything. And I'm sure there are many technical flaws in there.

Cheers to @Blank Bats for the net bat.
And to @Ayrtek for the trial helmet that gave me no issues during said net. Buy both people!
-
That bat is as good as most peoples match bat.
I love the shape.
-
Lovely bat. More than worth the money for sure.

Thanks for posting. How light would you say is the pick up compared to dead weight?
-
@smilley792 glad to hear it went well, I'll be giving mine ago on Tuesday once out nets start 👍
-
As Buzz mentioned, it's as good, if not better than a lot of people's match bat. Have to give it to @BlankBats for offering excellent sticks at discounted rates

@Blank Bats - do you think you will be finding any more of these at 2.10 and below? - it's a lovely shape!
-
Quite possibly.
Proper batmans weight that.
-
Quite possibly.
Proper batmans weight that.
A man could take offence at that....... But well, you've seen the video, never been a "proper" batsmen.
-
Well, I'm a 'propa' batsman, and I'm still drinking - so there's possibilities there! :)
-
Right then. This was used at a proper net tonight. Unfortunately took abit of damage. But not faulting that to blank bats and is an easy repair for myself.
But!!
MY DEAR GOD.
Why one earth this was sold as a net bat I don't know. I used it and by good is pingalicious, I was timing them to perfection and they was flying, took a bowler out unfortunately(hit him on his bell end) and after that I had the bowler retreating as soon as they bowled.
lent it our number 5 and he has a similar verdict. He said there flying out do that! I want it.
This is a serious serious bat!!!
-
Seen worse bats at nearly double that cost.

Stoked to use mine!! Sadly got to wait a few more weeks!!
-
Christopher my good man, thanks for the further feedback on the bat.
I'm happy to charge you double if u want mate. (Only joking)
I'm glad you're getting your money's worth out of it.
Cheers
Tai

Well Chris, after a lot of thought I think I might rename these from Net bats to bellend bats.
What do you think?
-
On a serious note, the rationale behind marketing these as net bats was that, there are plenty of bats if made and pressed properly, will play as good as "better looking" bats. Looks are not everything, even though we appreciate willow beauty on the forum. With the price of bats moving upwards year on year, there are certainly some gems to had in the lower grades.
Hope that makes sense.
-
I do like the shape of these - will be interesting to see if there is another stampede if you find any more light ones!!
-
Are there any of the heavier ones left Tai, or did they all go?
-
All gone I'm afraid.
-
Mine is certainly a stonker for the price!! Will post a review later on today!!
-
All gone I'm afraid.
Heavy, ugly but pingy clefts are hard to find.
-
All gone I'm afraid.
Must be quicker next time
