I want to get a sidearm thrower to give my 15 yr old son some practice when outdoor nets start.
Originally I was going to get the pro one but read on here it takes lots of practice and can be accidentally lethal.
But the yellow club one only does 50mph which is a bit slow.
He does 65 against the bowling machine no problem
Any ideas or experience

The club is fine for 'throw down' style feeding but I would go for the pro. It does take a bit to get used to but once you master it, it's a very good training aid

Just go for the pro and take time to learn how to use it and to start with just use it with no batter to get use to it they can take time

And make sure he's wearing a lid, just in case!
Even when you've got someone who seems competent with it the odd beamer still slips out from time to time.

There are a few videos on YouTube with tips etc. If you really want to ramp it up, you could go for the Elite

We have sidearm pros for £25 of you are interested. Club is £20.

I have both and I must say they are both excellent. I would also suggest the pro as it is more versatile (can bowl spin and slower balls). I would say that you can certainly get a faster delivery than 50mph from the club however. 10 mins practice and you should then be able to put it where you want it time and time again. They are not "expensive dog toys"that the missus thought they were. Philistine

I use a "Pro". My buddy got the hang of it in one session. He now pitches a bouncer over my head when he sees me shuffling down the pitch for a shot.

I would personally stick with the club, and if you are looking to increase speed, come off 20 yds or less?

I practice against the pro and it can be pretty sharp and can swing it a long way when in the hands of someone who knows how to use it. Just gotta be careful as it does take quite some getting used to so make sure you spend a decent amount of time mastering it, I found it works best if you don't try and throw it too hard. Hope the advice helps :)

I have a pro one,that I get the missus to throw some down at me pre season, but it can be lethal.
She does it from about 18yds tho

in Aus the pro has been discontinued and replaced by the elite, the club is still available.
most people are still using the old pro, I think the elite are a little stiffer.
I personally wouldn't bother about the club your son would quickly out grow it.

yes heard that as well, so hang onto those pros, sadly as I said can't get them anymore :(

yeah I think you a correct can't seem to find stock in Aus of Pro or Elites
