I am quite a compact player and find the bulky gloves get in the way. Also, the number of times I get hit on the gloves in a season is minimal despite playing on a bouncy track. I feel many of us have unnecessarily good padding for both gloves and pads.

Yeah but one nasty hit on the gloves and you could break some fingers meaning your out for many months. Gloves should be top priority protection wise imo

Each to their own, but I'd rank at least my box and my helmet ahead of gloves (in that order!) :D
