Title: Pads for the larger lad.
Post by: dcullen8 on February 10, 2016, 01:32:20 PM
Hi all looking for some recommendations for pads with longer straps.
Picked up some B&S Assegai from the forum and found the straps just far too short for my calves.
My old bradburys fit fine but are looking rather worse for wear due to their age so i need some match pads.
Many thanks.

Sorry to hear that bud, the fit was fine for me, just got kit nerdy and decided to match my softs to my bats...

Not a problem at all, i have found it to be hit and miss with some brands. The gloves however, comfiest ive ever used!

Unfortunately 2 major surgeries on my ankles have left me with naturally massive calves. Just one of those things really.

If you can tell us the calf size I can get someone to check if ours fit.

Assegai and impi pads did have pretty short straps, this has been rectified on the 2016 pads from a new manufacturer, the GP274 is also made using a different supplier, both are good options if you want to keep your B&S look :)

GM D30's if you can get hold of any. The straps on mine are huge!

Try gms. My old ones were long. And I sold them onto a dude with the worlds biggest calfs. They fit him fine.

Ive struggled before to, 6"1' a shade under 20 stone rugby playing calves, but I just bought 'GRAY-NICOLLS Oblivion e41 5 Star Batting Pads' and they fit like a dream (and they were cheap :D £26 from Millet sports)

Aero pads or strippers? The strippers are very adjustable to any size.

Strippers are very adjustable. I think (although someone may prove me wrong) they all come with the same sized waist band which is adjusted, and the size is the length of the strippers.

Ive packed on the timber being at uni and still fit into mine just fine. If you want some size measurements for the waist size and thigh straps drop me a message and ill get the tape measure out for you.

Thanks all picked up some GN F18s at a bargain price and suitable straps!!
Time to shift on the B&S to someone with better legs than mine.
