I'm so sorry for starting a new topic on this matter, and I'm sure there are many posts like this but I just wanted an idea from the current new brands that are being stocked. I'm looking for a new bat and play a very high level of cricket, premier league standard. Issue is I've always bought my bats from India and always used TONs, or an Indian made bat. They've been fantastic and always cost be around £200 max from India. However I can't go to India this year due to scheduling issues and so have to resolve to buying a bat from UK. Also, I want to move away from Asian brands as I used one of my friends Newbery kudos and was totally amazed! I'm looking for a SH bat that weight max 2lb 9, and one with a very light pick up, sweet spot in the middle for all round play and minimal comcaving like a traditional shape. Something along the lines of the Newbery Merlin. However I really find it unjustified to dish out £350 on a bat. Personally I think it's outrageous. I really don't care about looks, just all about performance. Can some advise me on a good bat for £200? I've been researching on a lot of brands and I've seen some sponsor here who custom made bats for £200, or there is hell 4 leather grade 2's... There's a new brand as well called Phantom Cricket who do very good G1 bats for £200.
Anyone have a good suggestions? I live in London so travelling somewhere far is not an option. Also if I'm going to spend £200 is am I right in not spending that extra £100 on a G1+ bat? I'm not really a "bat collector" and so have always picked my bat on performance only as an opening batsman.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and once again sorry for another thread which will bore the hell out of some of you.

Pretty sure all of our sponsors can help you out @Vitas Cricket @ItsJustCricket @VKS @procricket B3
-
I know that @VKS and @ItsJustCricket are based in London so they might be worth a shout ?
Also going the custom route via @procricket B3 or @Red Ink Cricket might be right up your alley!

If you are in London, come and see us. We are based in Ealing Broadway and less than a 5 min walk from the tube station.
Lots of bats in stock at the moment from a host of brands, for the under £200 price mark you're after.
-
Hundreds of bats in stock, most of which have been hand selected by us from the factories/warehouses
Around £200 is our most popular price point and 2'9 is probably the most popular weight, so we have many options to suit your needs
Feel free to send me a message or email jake@vitascricket.co.uk to discuss
We offer free UK delivery on all orders :)
An alternative would be to have a G1 custom bat made in front of you at Hunts County Bats in Huntingdon (45 minutes on the train from London) this is a service that is less than £200 when purchased from us.
-
I can custom make something to you specs for under budget. Drop me a pm to discuss if you're interested

I can't reccomend Vitas enough, Jake helped me out massively when I was getting my new bat. Terrific service.

If you liked a kudos, I am sure @Blank Bats can help you out too.

wow thankyou all! didn't know the response time would be so quick! love this website and thankyou to you all the Sponsors who have offered, I will contact you all individually.
I wanted an opinion from the non-sponsor and other cricket bat users, why do brands like Hell 4 Leather and Newbery charge so much for english made bats? Do the sponsors on these website offer the same quality and performance from a bat at alot cheaper price? Also the Grade 1 bats that the sponsors can custom make, will they be as good as those from the top range of Hell 4 Leather? I.e in short, why would someone go to Hell 4 Leather rather than Red Ink Cricket, or Vitas?
Cheers guys!

We are also based in London and have a Merlin Players grade in. Probably the best looking players grade I've ever seen! Let us know if you wanted photos...

You pay for what you get a grade two h4l is 195 and will be a very good bat indeed matts pressing is spot on red ink make nice bats and vitas Uzi all stock lovely bats but I think you won't go far wrong with a h4l they are that good
-
You have a huge amount of options available to you so I will just add B&S to the list 👍
-
Flippin heck the fella must be confused. 😀
Spoilt for choice, I guess.
Even I'm interested in that Merlin CBD.
-
Obviously too many options here. My favourite are Bb and h4l from the forum
You can go to vitas or uzisports (I think uzi also has) and also try out bats in their nets like h4l. That will also give you a good idea.

The Paul Aldred butterfly's are great performing bats if you're on a budget.
-
A custom Hunts from @Vitas Cricket is the way to go! Completely custom made to exactly what you want - mine flies and for the money it's a no brainer.
-
Yup, try Paul Aldred he can make a custom for you under 200.
