Can i get your guys honest opinion of our website and maybe a few suggestions as what else to include on it?
Baring in mind its still under construction with the 1st XI page updated with the latest fixtures (yet to touch the other teams)

I quite like it. Nice and clean and easy to navigate.
Just a suggestion, rather than just a map look at putting address and postcode also for the ground. Help opposition find the ground.
-
I agree, nice and easy to navigate and has some nice ideas but I think full address is essential for oppos using sat nav or similar to find the ground.
-
Added from my phone probably doesnt look the best at the moment

@nothernboy1987 @calzehbhoy Would you both like an option of a mobile website? Last time i used weeblys mobile option it moved everything in a strange order!
-
It's a nice and clean design which looks good when viewed on a computer :)
although I was a bit disappointed when I clicked on the 'Forum' tab and wasn't redirected back here!! :p
-
nice and simple, minimalist! and love logo too
-
very functional and easy to get around, v.impressive!! - one thing may be to use the space to the left and right of the twitter feeds for sponsors and links as it would be good advertising space

Infact thats just what i thought of about 10 minutes ago.. Ill make up a little 'advertise here' jpeg to drop into that space if possible

😂 that could change as i doubt anyone will use that... But i might use it for match reports so people can comment on them too.

That sounds like a top idea! I can imagine the inter-team sledging being in full flow!
Would the forum be available to anyone or only those with website logins ?
-
lots of them on google in the image search, one like this could do a job

I think registering to post would work best as then it limits the anonymous trolling from bitter/bored opponents! And players for that matter!
-
Yes definitely! Ill have to have a proper look when i get home

I think good mobile functionality is important nowadays but I think it depends on what you want the site to be used for. If you want players to use it regularly as an extension of the club and community, then you need to make it as accessible to your members as possible to encourage them to visit the site regularly, that means being mobile friendly. If the goal of the site is just to store and access information for people to use as and when they need it (club info, fixtures, stats etc.) then I don't think it's quite as important although in an ideal world, still desirable.
EDIT: I'm not even sure if "functionality" is a word (or if it is, the correct word) but I hope you understood what I meant!! :D

I do understand what you mean although im not sure if its the correct word entirely! It will obviously work but things will be in odd places which ruins user experience... Maybe thats it? I dont know!

I know what you mean, I think if you expect/want your members to visit and use the site regularly then being mobile friendly is a must, as daft as it sounds it can be off putting when things overlap or don't look right.

Mobile compatibility is essential. How many people grab their phone or ipad instead of loading the pc just to check on the results etc.

It's straight on the mobile website to check the scores in my division in the bar after the game on a Saturday followed by a period between 10 and 1030 on a Monday morning at work checking how the rest of the WARCL got on and also the Birmingham League Results!
So being functional on both platforms is a must nowadays :)
-
@Woodyspin I don't think mobile view in necessarily an issue, if the full site works on a mobile in normal web view that will be more than enough.
It depends what you are going to use the site for. Is it a 'Brochure Page' for the club or will users actively be interacting with the website? If just a brochure keep it simple.
-
@calzehbhoy Just brochure really, touch of proffesionalism more than anything. Rather than just relying on social media and playcricket.
-
Then as long as the full website is available in mobile I don't think you need anything more if it requires a lot of fiddling with the format.
Most of your traffic will be on the site for 2 mins max as a reference site.
-
Yeah i think the format of the mobile site is determined by the format on the desktop, and i think its done in a linear fashion so even if you have things side by side like my maps and weather, youll get both tittles first the the maps then the weather. Pain in the backside!
Thank you to everyone for their feed back though i thought it was a bit too plain and was expecting alot of suggestions!

Sometimes less is more!
One thing you might want to consider is moving the 'Quick News' banner above the about us section ? I think it could look better there :)
