Title: Repairing polycoated GN Dynadrive
Post by: Gboots on February 11, 2016, 10:56:15 AM
Bought this GN Dynadrive 5 star on eBay as a child hood memory. Inside toe had large piece missing. Used putty  to fill. The bat is polycoated . Should I try repair ? The bat stickers would be at risk. Could j just sand the face from below top stickers and across face. The inside edge has been damaged probably by cheap balls.
I don't intend using but would like to have it as showpiece . Mind you it has a great pick up and the back is in superb condition

The handle looks great - have you thought of having it re-bladed?  ;)

I have only had it for two weeks. Bought it in eBay .
What is reblading and does it mean removing stickers ?

What I was thinking if doing was just sanding the face from stickers down to remove polycoat on the face. Also to try and preserve side stickers. This would allow me to use PVA on the damaged edge. I could then oil the face only and possible put extratec tape of the face edge (but not edge itself ). Mind you I would never use in a game

I sanded back the polycoat to the bare wood on the fade and was surprised so see the marks on the wood (I assumed that were cracks in the poly). How deep would they be or is it just pigmentation with age ?
