Very possible... Sticker looks a little low to me! Should be right on the top of the shoulder
-
I thought it looked on the large side. These Warner bats are getting everywhere.
-
just seen this aswell and was going to put something up
absolute tank of a bat
HAs to be a GN stickered up there all doing it now
-
One of the commentators earlier said he has a Warner bat in his bag and was talking to him about it off the camera pre-match.
-
AB gone, into the very long tail.

quite a funny little segment that when Haysman mentioned he was possibly using a Warner. Kepler and Nasser then just goaded him into digging a little hole before realising he was upsetting sponsors.
I really dislike Haysman and hearing him squirm made me chuckle

Should've been a formality Ed, some p@#% poor fielding, at least six very good chances went astray.

nice spot. maybe its that stolen bat from twitter.

Warner is corrupting all the international batsmen! No more toothpick bats. :D
-
Its going to force JS Wright to cut out larger clefts...i.e. bats will get even more expensive (less clefts around).

They are difficult to do business with. They don't sell ordinary consumers clefts directly. If you want to make a bat for yourself, you have to find your cleft elsewhere. They got a monopoly on their trade and are minting money.
I wonder how much one cleft really costs.

It's going to get to the stage before long that everyone is using the "David Warner shape" except David Warner...

Does that really mean the the David Warner shape is not really the david warner shape?

Maybe it should be renamed "the profile formerly know as the David Warner shape"

I see @hell4leather cricket lurking. So will pose the question.
When is a uk bat manufacturer going to produce a true Warner replica?? Why is it only gray nicolls Australia that seem to be able to make them?
@Red Ink Cricket
@The Doctor
@Ryan
And everyone else that makes bats from start to finish can answer that to.
-
I've made something similar for Nick but to be fair I just don't have access to willow light enough to make that regularly. I also don't dry them out beyond the norm which I'm sure someone mentioned these are. Quite happy to dry one out further and try it but won't come with any guarantee to last.
Pros don't care if the bats break, normal customers do

David Warner bat has a yoog bow and B3 can't replicate that. GN England should be able to replicate it.

Can you put a yoog bow on it like the Warner bat?

I have a Warner rep Imported from aus john. It's not dry. There's a guy in USA that says his isn't dry at either.
The ones that do say they are dry are just guessing and talking about Warners actual bats, I'm talking about replicas.

I can put a decent bow in it yes. Not sure what warners is like to be honest

What's yoog mean?
Gray nicolls uk have already said they won't/can't make them.

If you can tell me how to measure a bow, I can measure mine and share the number with you.

Huge. :D
Surprised to hear about GN -UK

It's hard to judge exact specs from pictures , having cut one of warners bats at the kent warm up game it was dry as f';k prob and about 8% moisture ,also shorter handle and at a guess about 2.11 . Plus gn aus prob get 150000 + clefts a year so with that volume you will get a share of super light clefts , Or gn aus have super light handle technology
I can do a 50mm edge bat at 2.13/14 but it will be concaved a lot and a thin handle . Just watching khawaja bat , the bat he's using looks like a standard gn , the big bash would have been prob 2-3 ounces heavier

We had a little fun trying to attempt the Original Warner profile in a Lam.... 2.13 with 46mm edges in a fullish profile. Pickup is brilliant for a 2.13 due to the placement of the middle which is high up the blade and very long. The actual Warner profile Ive seen had a 55mm edge and almost a 20mm shoulder edge.

Maybe it should be renamed "the profile formerly know as the David Warner shape"
Or should we call it the "purple rain" shape

That is a big bow. Guessing they must cut they in a little as well and pressing the bow as that looks a lot for just pressing. The clefts must start off huge goo to get 55mm edges and a bow like that

An Original Warner bat - 55mm edges

De villiers would prob be from Sg they are one of the biggest cleft buyers in the world , so would have the pick

They also make kook so make sense

GN have their own willow supply, and can cut to a larger size, as far as I'm aware JSW don't cut to that size, (but others can do)well that's what I was told by Jeremy.
I'm not sure of the relationship between GN Aus and GN UK, whether they ship willow to them.
You also get warm weather in Aus, sometimes even warmer that India/Pak which helps in drying out the timber further.
-
^ What about Kippax? They make big bats.
-
I think they have their own willow supply?

Kippax have their own willow and can cut to any size as well I believe
-
I think Kippax do not get the credit they deserve, it is them who have made available on larger scale (either through their own bats or supply of clefts within the industry) massive bats
-
Had a look at next seasons GN bats a couple of weeks ago, they have gone a few massive bats in the range.

May have to send kingsgrove some more money next season then! As I doubt we'd get them here.

I think you will, if you accept a compromise. Warner probably has a shorter blade and an ultra light cleft. Thin handle and a bit dry. Wait long enough and something will come along. I think John dropped me an email about my red ink cleft roughly 3 months after I enquired. Without the bow I imagine b3 could do one in a light cleft at any point.
