Yesterday I undertook a pretty huge drive for the sake of quality craftsmanship, but it was well worth it... (including being stuck on the hellish M25 for an eternity)

Weight: 2.11
Profile: Warbird Hybrid (standard blade length/warbird handle/slight bow with a bit of my GN E41 thrown in)
Grains: 11 with strip of heartwood
Edges: 39mm
Spine: 61mm
Pictures speak for themselves I think, the custom stickers look unreal and the bat is just so responsive already, minimal knocking in is going to be required which is just how i like them. Its a profile designed for a lot of forgiveness I would say, nice tradeoff between spine height and edges, (my measurements are rough) I'm not going to have to be hitting the middle of the middle all the time to get full benefit. There is concaving there obviously but there has to be otherwise it would be a huge 3lb lump! The pick up is superb, this is where it really comes into its own. I have other lighter bats that don't pick up as well so go figure. It's always a pleasure to visit Matt's workshop, he's a great bloke and he makes you feel very welcome, if you were hesitating on getting a H4L, stop and just do it already! I also had the pleasure of seeing another forum members SCAT copy which I have no doubt he'll be incredibly pleased with, seriously nice mate!!! I actually think the copy is better than the original.

Love the shape.

That's lovely looking gear and have always been a fan of H4l gear. Surprised at the amount of concaving though, very different from what I had pictured in my head for the warbird.

Bit of concaving really doesn't bother me as long as it's not detrimental to the bat. There has to be some shape after all! Matt spent a good while carefully taking wood out and sanding to get the feel right for me, surely the real skill is achieving that balance and not just relying on having the worlds least dense cleft every time you buy a bat. Because that's a tall order! I wanted something that looks imposing but picks up well and this is how we achieved it. I have zero doubt that it will be anything other than a shotgun.

Absolute belter stash of kit there pal!! Hope the bat's a goer (who am I kidding!)

Just wanted to do a little update on these now that I've had a proper go with them this evening and all I can say is WOW. I'd use some fruitier language if the mods permitted it because the bat is an absolute ******* rocket launcher. Bats/brands get hyped up and over played but seriously Matt has a really special way of pressing these bats (can only comment on the pro grade not sure if its different lower down) but they are genuinely pretty much ready to play straight away. I rounded off the edges, gave the toe a bit of a tap and smash with the mallet then just took it straight into a club net. Can't think of any other bats I've used where I've been able to do that with no fear. Wasn't going to be jamming down on any yorkers obviously but thats just common sense, even if i had i don't think anything catastrophic would have happened. The softs are top notch too, light, good protection, look great. What more do you want! So thanks @hell4leather cricket, this is the only bat I'll be needing all season (who am I kidding), but it is going to be my go to favourite bat thats for sure.

must say I thought you would be very pleased and Matt does really press a good bat from the top end to bottom end all
Pressed individually and are like you say rocket launchers they just make a lovely sound of the bat as well which puts a big smile on your face :)
