Hi Guys, Im looking at getting a grade 2 custom bat from online stockist. I have read some of the posts on here and heard about the customer service....Just want to know what the blades are like? Im not investing big so not expecting it to be life changing but would like to to not be a plank!
Any info would be great

Honestly, go to a forum sponsor. I can't believe they couldn't do something for you in your price range, and you get piece of mind.

Seconded. If I were you I'd drop Jake @ Vitas and Paul/Chris @ IJC an email with your requirements, I'm sure you'd find both very helpful and they really will go the extra mile to sort you out!

Also John @Red Ink Cricket or Ryan Kelsall could sort you out something at a good price in a lower grade.

It will have to be something very low grade to match the £59 ols charge just for a blank bat !

How custom a service do you get for a custom made OLS bat?
To me it looks like the "custom" option is to chose your weight, grip type, scuff sheet preference and if they claim to have oiled and knocked the bat in or not.

Don't forget the optional nail in the handle 😉

I thought SF had a patent on that technology!

Just remember if you buy cheap, you buy twice...
Don't waste your money, spend an extra £20/£30 and get something from one of the retailers on here.

That usually true, but on here I think a more appropriate saying would be "however much your bat costs, you'll end up with at least 5 of them!" ;) :D

Haha too true - more like buy one, get another one for the same price (and repeat!)

Do not buy their custom bats (OLS). One of my friend got a bat from them, it was very soft pressed..literally left himuge dents on knocking and ping was #&#-#. Do yourself a favor and better contact Jake @Vitas Cricket or @ItsJustCricket. They have bats in all range that they hand pick and service is excellent.

I bought their max grainer. Good bat, (No Swearing Please) handle. Snapped after 2 practices. Will post pictures of the blade if u need

I bought a supposed gade 1 bat from them. It weighed 2.10 but picked up like 3lb and was a plank. It was that bad i threw it in the bin...

We have plenty of bats in at all prices - let us know if we can help at all!

Thanks guys. Will get in contact with relevant people. It's just for a second bat. I'm waiting on new Macer gear to arrive!

@TamGoodrich - Avoid OLS if possible. You can get better bats here in the forum itself ...

Let us know what you think of the Macer gear. The ones I have seen have been noticeably Indian in shape and pressed within an inch of their lives.

We had a young Englishman over here last season using Macer, well for about 3 games anyway till he seen how poor they were compared to most of the boy's sticks.

Shall do. The 3 chaps who took over are top blokes so touch wood. I love the softs though!

£240 for a grade 2 just doesn't seem logical. My £95 Grade 3 Blank Bat would do a better job I'm sure of it.

Mine was 310 for grade 1 codex elite plus softs and a bag. Agreed, I still have no idea on quality but I'm assured that grade 1 and 2 bats are made in England now (they didn't used to be) and the grade 3 is Indian. Guess it's a waiting game really! Touch wood.
