Post by: Vitas Cricket on February 19, 2016, 03:26:17 PM
B&S sponsored player George Munsey was at Vitas Cricket this morning to for some last minute TLC on his bats, and also to have a little net in preparation for his trip out to the World Cup with Scotland, we wish him the best of luck :)

Here's a video of part of his session

Yes lovely bloke, played a couple of games for my club last Summer too in between his Northants games, whacks it!!

He's got a massive Swede hasn't he? Saw the Scotland lid you did, very shiny lol

What was the specs of the bat mate?

I didn't measure them to be honest, but no different really to what we offer from B&S in terms of edge/spine size and he actually swapped out an unused bat from his bag for one we had on the shelf. He uses bats 2'10 to 2'12 usually.

Always amazes me how these top players seem to have so much time...not sure how fast the bowling machine was set at but I reckon I'd be jumping around and throwing my bat all over the place!

Said he's got bats between 2.8-2.12 when we were chatting, let him have a waft of my old SCAT which he deemed "old school" in terms of profile as it only has 30 MM edges.....the Yuff of today!! Haha

Bet Gary stopped filming because that last drive was too close for comfort haha

Looks like he doesn't half hit the ball.

Many Thanks to Robin and Jake at Vitas 3 hours well spent getting George all set up kit wise for the World T20 fingers crossed he gets his chance to show his Talent and skills. Siv that last drive was the final shot taken thank fully common sense prevailed he does hit the ball very sweetly . His 4 bats going with him 3 are 2.101/2 and a  1 at 12.5 this is to use on any slower pitches that may be prepared all of his Bats are selected from the stock that is sent over nothing is specially made for him as Jake said he swapped one of his Fireblades with one that Vita's had in stock the handle felt a bit thicker than his the fibreglass scuff sheets are being used as a trial as opposed to the clear scuff sheet time will tell the machine speed was 70 mph off 18 yards and moving the stumps instead of the machine was noted never thought of that before all the Best George/ Scotland

Yes to strettons

The bats to the right of screen are One of the many areas where we keep extra stock that isn't out on display

We are testing the fibre glass sheet we will asses after World Cup to see what reduced wear and tear it may have saved IF ANY .
The swapped Bat the only difference to the one on the shelf was a slight difference in grip thickness otherwise same weight thickness etc etc .Siv waiting on Stretton Fox stripper to come out we will then have some made up in the B&S Colours

Just a bit of follow up today, we had George in today with Gary from B&S for a bit of a hit with his new gear before he heads off to Dubai with Scotland for an associate nations tournament in January.

Here he is having a wipe with my new blade before i've even had a go with it!

He seems to be struggling to sell this one though.

He is putting it up for sale to donate to a charity close to his heart and will not accept anything less than the asking price no other reason

Why would he have ' or best offer ' on listing? Needs removing and perhaps a line re: charity

Best offer should not be on and a reference to a charity is not necessary as the asking price is a steal anyway in hind sight we should have listed this on our web site and then make the Charity appeal

It's a stunning bat and if I can shift a couple quickly I'll bid/ BN ... as a Scotland fan and a lover of bats with serious toes ...

Just to be aware his 0 feedback may hamper the sale on eBay. Not now I know it's legit but I certainly wouldn't be touching it at that price (not saying it's overpriced, just that it's not a steal) on eBay from someone with 0 feedback, there is just too many fakes on there.

Thank you for this even more reason to take it off eBay

Looks a lovely bat
Fair play putting it up for sale to raise funds for a charity
