Title: Adult training at the Oval
Post by: Percy_Grainger on February 23, 2016, 08:03:10 PM
Has anyone attended these on a Friday night?  If so what has been your experience?  Is it of a good standard?  I can't make my club nets as it is too far away and am thinking if these would be helpful.  I am particularly interested in improving my batting.  Thanks

I went to a few early in October, generally a turnout of 20 or so. First thing they do is normally a warmup and fielding drills, then the pair you in the nets (2 pairs sharing) working on a specific shot.  Then they'll split you off in two groups; one facing the bowling machine and the others playing a kind of tip and run game again where you're supposed to take on whatever shot.

I only did four/five weeks of it but it's not bad and the coaches there are fairly knowledgable, but expensive at £18 a pop...

Many thanks Rick!  Hugely helpful.  Sounds like a good session for me  :)
