Title: Kookaburra Ghost Softs
Post by: Cublingtoncc on February 24, 2016, 08:57:47 AM
morning guys

I'm currently using a kookaburra ghost and I'm quite OCD and I like to have matching kit

does anyone know when Kookaburra are going to release the gloves for the ghost range ??

or anyone have pictures or even have some ??

and is it weird that I like all matching kit ??

They're not listed on the Kookaburra website, just Kahuna, Onyx, Ignite, Verve and Blade.

Definitely not weird about the matching kit. I always have a matching pad/glove combo, or as close to it as I can can get (eg. currently have GN Legend pads and Prestige gloves as I prefer sausage finger gloves).

Ahhhh  :-[ :( I was really hoping they were being released soon haha and maybe the pads but will just have to wait, thinking off getting supernova or newberry SPS Combo

Unless any of the sponsors can shed any further light on it? They'll know more than us mere mortals @Vitas Cricket @ItsJustCricket @Uzi Sports @VKS

The Ghost bat was just a one off product from Kookaburra this year with no complementary softs etc....but as its been selling so well, I would envisage a full Ghost range to be introduced for the 2017 season.

So kit yourself out with the Supernova or SPS's this year and then buy again next season too. [emoji1]

Waiting patiently for my ghost to arrive and contemplating matching softs.

But by matching I mean kahuna softs. Mainly as I don't like all white softs but wanted some kook gloves to match.

Unfortunately the ones I saw in owzat were poor beyond belief!!

If ghost full range does come next season, I hope it's off higher quality than 2016 softs.!

Asked vitas to look for one on there next visit.

Due to wanting one from the top range of weight(2.14) getting one of a shelf is not seeming likely.

Cricket appears to be the only sport where the companies refuse to sell the kit people actually want - Kookaburra are the worst offenders....GN and GM on the other hand appear to be getting the idea. It doesn't help that apart from the Blade softs the Kook range has continued to get worse - and I was a diehard kook fan too.....

Ex Lowry from gun and Moore is on here, and eh was asked why pro pads weren't availBle to the public, his reply was aloft the liens of "why on earth would we offer that, not body would buy them"

I know we are a small section of the cricketing public, but pro spec gear is what we want and like, companies refusal to sell what the internationals actually use will always baffle me.

I know this is off topic but its like I'm a goalkeeper and the gloves we get from shops is no where near the ones that Pro's use - but if they do get pro ones they sell them through the roof on the price

The only way to get Kook sausage finger gloves nowadays seems to be to keep searching 'pro players cricket' on ebay, in the hope that Lorimers has some pro issue gloves up for sale.  I did manage to pick up the pro Kahuna sausage finger gloves recently on there - far cheaper than the top end gloves retail for as well.  That's three pairs of Kook sausage finger gloves I own, which will be collector's items soon!  Admittedly one pair are nine years old though!  Also have some B3 ones, so they should all see me through...

Sponsored goalie gloves are built entirely for maximum grip rather than longevity, i can see why they would be rarely available to retail. Parents want to buy maybe a couple of pairs a season, i used to go through 3 or 4 sets a month. I'll always be thankful to Uhlsport for their support, i was only a youngster at a league 2 club but they kept throwing gloves and me and the other goalies on the books.

I agree there - I got a pair of fraser forester and 2 x pairs of mignolets and they are different class but I'm sponsored by a brand called RK1 and there better than any other glove I have used in my whole career and they are only £20 each aha
