Title: Cracked handle
Post by: Cow_corner on March 03, 2016, 12:29:40 AM
Just finished making a 2.12 club from a part made. During the shoulder shaping I deliberately left material on the bottom two to three inches of handle. I bound the handle manually using twine and PVA. Knocked bat in, first two hour net session bat went really well. Half an hour into second found a small hairline crack an inch or so up from the shoulder. A few things have I just been unlucky with a dodgy handle, or was it down to tightness of binding? Blade is too good to chuck so I'll have a go at re handling.

No it wouldn't be the binding more likely tightness of the handle in the vee.

Thanks, interesting will have a go at a shade looser fit. Presume to re-handle cut as close to the splice maybe a band saws blades width either side?
