So as I said previously in the ebay bargains thread,i decided to take a gamble on the GN Nemesis from the GN Ebay page.THe bat arrived today which stunned me as I only ordered it yesterday whilst on my dinner at work. This led the the missus phoning me up asking why what looks like a cricket bat has just turned up? especially when I'm currently trying to reduce my gear not add to it.A quick ' oh I had a email this morning saying ive won a bat in a competition I entered before xmas which I had forgotten all about'  Anyway onto the bat.Yes it has a grain sheet on which will probably come off when I get time to have a play with it.The weight is 2.10 dead but with it obviously being bottom heavy I will probably add anaother grip or some lead tape around the handle to sort the balance out.It has 40mm edges and a 70mm spine. It taps up well with the mallet and a ball. I might give it 10 mins in the nets on Saturday before making iny more comments or deciding if to keep but for £50 I felt it was a no lose gamble.

Here it is.......

Just ordered one of these, will definitely take the grain sheet off, even if it's ugly I'll stick a fibre glass sheet on, for £50 I don't see the harm in trying a shape I've always been interested by.

If mines anything like that I'm pleased, 50 quid when you think about materials, overheads and logistic costs, must be Kashmiri willow? or GN at trying to make a decent loss to reduce their Corporation tax bill.

According to the description its 'entry level' English willow (grade 4/5?) and as I understand it the kit they sell on eBay is just gear they've had returned from stores that were overstocked. They had some decent looking 2015 prestige's for £150 recently

And the nemesis isn't a brand by its self anymore

Are these pre-knocked in?

HAs anyone actually tapped a ball up on theirs yet?

On the listing it says advisable to further knock in for 30/60 mins.Ive just give it half hour on the toe and ran the edges on my bathtub.Had a  good response with a ball but ill find out more tomorrow at nets.(if the snow holds off)

I've finally got around to removing the grain sheet on this bat.I can't believe how easy it came off leaving no residue like a scuff sheet.Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised at what was hiding under it.Ill post a few pics later

Ill probably still go with a fibre scuff sheet although i am considering just a plain scuff sheet as shes not as ugly as i first feared
