Haha Just a bit £130 plus spiking but I have had lots of problems with normal spikes, so money well spent

That's fair mate, especially if they last a while. I end up spending £100 on spikes anyway every season so you'll save money anyhow. This do look rediculously comfortable.

@coxy17 where are you getting them from? I can't seem to find them on the adidas store...

Wiggle I have found to be the cheapest

May be my eyes, but there nothing alike.
-
The boost part is just whatever is in the sole i think
-
Yes, it is the sole, really like the shoes thou
-
you will have to post them up once done as it may sway me away from the SL22 boosts

Will do need to arrange to get them sent off to the shoe doctor

SL22 Boost are hitting the wholesalers first week of April. Will be cheaper than spiking other Boost shoes and more foot protection. I'd wait.

Question ive often wondered on here. What added protection do cricket spikes give over spiked trainers?
-
Those SL22 aren't cheap mind, more expensive then the top of the line bowling boot. Are they fielding, bowling or batting shoes as I can't figure them out.

Batting I think.
-
Are the spikey bits hard or softish rubber. They look like they are going to completely destroy the wicket if you're running, turning etc as a batsman??! Or bowlers scuffing it up on a length??

Ive seen them and they are not spikes and I need spikes and also a set of trainers that I can get on with,
They've been extensively tested when batting and fielding by pro players over the past twelve months, Collingwood is also partial to a little trundle in them by all reports. They obviously aren't geared up for proper seam bowlers, but in my opinion nor are spiked up trainers.
The soleplate is clearly different and won't be to everyones liking, but they've put a lot of research into it, mostly weighted towards high standard cricket if you ask me. It is unlikely to be suitable for your classic image of the sunday village green with a wet muddy outfield. But a rock hard square and well maintained quality outfield and they will be just fine.
Just as an fyi we offer trainer spiking for less than the shoe doctor charges and the soleplates is stitched and glued, whereas the shoe doctor (to my knowledge) only glues the soleplate.

Most trainers simply have mesh on the upper. Cricket shoes even if not all are genuine leather are usually a more substantial material, with a nod to some additional toe protection, though not exactly the steel toe caps of the past.

How much is the trainer spiking service @Vitas Cricket ? As i'm split between ultra boost and white NB Zante shoes for a bit of spiking this year... If i don't go for the SL22's that is!

£45 for half spike, £50 for full spike or 1/2 spike + pimple heels. Free postage back to you.

Of course they will have put through into the shoe, just at club cricket level, they are not going to ideal and need spikes, even with spikes it can be slippy at times.

During the wetter matches I find even with spikes I have to knock the mud off so I can grip when keeping, this is usually because of the mud behind the stumps when standing up rather than on the grass away from the square. I guess I'll just have to do that a bit more often with the SL22s but I think they will be fine for the majority of games. If not I will keep a pair of old spikes in the car, just in case.
