Title: SF Black Edition & Gold Custom Softs
Post by: GoldenArm on March 10, 2016, 08:22:25 PM
Been waiting for this one to arrive!! I've been impressed with the SF stuff last year so I've been hunting around for a Black Edition that was worth splurging the extra money on as I'd already got a H4L custom not too long ago. After a lot of hunting and pondering I sourced this one through the Midlands rep for SQ Sports who has been absolutely fantastic to deal with, anyone in the general Worcester area I'd recommend him highly, great little selection of bats. I initially chose a Blade 15000 but it turned out to be too heavy for me in the end coming in at 2.12 & 1/2. So he went away and found me a Black Edition that came in at just over 2.8 & 1/2 with one grip and no scuff sheet. I only had to take one look at it to know it was going to be a cracker. Picked it up and it was just that. Onto the specs:

Short handle
12 straight grains with a little heartwood on the outside.
41mm Edges
65 mm spine (roughly)
2.10 with scuff sheet and my preferred set up of half a chevron and a single hybrid grip.

Won't say anymore I'll just let the photos say the rest, it still looks good even with my dreadful photography skills.

Final word just on the softs, they're great value for money, look great, fit really well. Gloves don't have pittards which would be my only quibble but for the money, superb. Embossing is a nice touch too, makes them that little bit more desirable and less loud than the standard Sapphire pads. SF's are a very good option if you're looking for a reasonably priced plain set of softs. I believe they do an even plainer set as well for a bit more money.
