Thought I share pictures of my new helmet that I got for the season very impressed with the shrey lids very comfortable with good air circulation and vision for me is better than the masuri elite and better value as well and the weight being just 750 grams is extremely light and a plus side is you get the neck guard with it as well

I got it from Matt at hell4leather he has them in stock this year in steel and titanium
-
How much?
-
Do you have the masuri VS as well?
-
How much?
Titanium lids are 150 and I not sure what price the steel is best bet is to email Matt and he let you know the prices
-
More than the Masuri then? Surprising, given they're apparently built from inferior materials etc

All depends on what masuri and built from inferior materials not sure on that one this the top end shrey helmet the top end masuri is about 180 pounds and is heavier and you have to pay 50 pounds on top for the neck guard

I'd heard it from the experts that's all...
Please do be aware of the pitfalls with Shrey. We are not stocking them due to build quality issues. The plastic grille mounts connecting the grille to the shell are made of the same stuff as your average smoke alarm. I've seen plenty of shrey helmets recently that are cracked in this area straight out the box. Some to the point of impacting on the mounting of the grille and therefore the integrity of the entire helmet

I am sure it can't be that bad as a lot of pros switching to shrey now and if made from poor materials I don't think they would put their life at risk

Dollars do tend to talk though ;)

Really like the look of this helmet and all. That allures me to buy one, however, after getting one for a friend from Talent Cricket, I was put off. As @Vitas Cricket emphasized, the quality of helmet is not exceptional. I did not find the built quality to be on par with Masuri Elite (preceding years one). This looks brittle and cheaply built.

I think the quality of the lids have got a lot better now than when they first came out come out

To be fair, if I was an international player I'd be fairly confident in my ability to not wear the ball. With this in mind I'd happily wear a coulender with a grille duct taped to it if I was offered a few quid a game...

Just weighed the helmet and it is very light

I had two of these. On the first one the plastic where the grill mounts to the helmet had cracked clean through from top to bottom without even being struck. I couldn't get a replacement from the original stockist so ordered one from another supplier and this one was much worse. Numerous cracks in the plastic mounts on both sides and even looked as though the plastic had been spot melted to repair some of the cracks. Returned it and went back to Masuri.
Such a shame as I really liked the fit and feel of the helmet but the build quality was poor on the two I had.

@procricket B3 you've got both which side have you fallen on? I've just ordered my Shrey from a local retailer I liked them so much, especially compared to the helmets Masuri are making which have presumably been designed with moto GP in mind as much as cricket! You'd have to pay me millions to wear one of those, horrible horrible helmet.

Took some pictures of the mounts can't see any problems on this one

Also aren't there screws as well as the plastic
I'm sure I've seen screw heads on sheet helmets where the pros have taken the branding off

I have the version with the screws, it does not have the latest safety certification. How ever it does have a stiffer peak and the grill can not be set low, so there is no chance of a ball fitting through. The comfort and visibility are excellent, no issues with the build quality. Been using for over a year now and love it. I would consider getting the new fixed grill version but I am happy with the one I have at the minute.
-
No no I mean actual screws that need a screwdriver to undo, not the big plastic things on the side of most helmets

Exactly my point seems strange that the model that was before the newly updated version which has past all the latest safety tests, would be made from a lower grade of materials than its predecessor.
-
The Shrey helmets conform to the latest safety standards so they tick at the boxes in that respect, but when it comes to the overall finish and workmanship, then the Masuri are far superior and pretty much perfect.
