Title: Old skool carbon fibre inserts?
Post by: Mattsky on March 14, 2016, 07:36:13 PM
I thought the use of carbon fibre was a relatively new fad in cricket.
Turns out it's not, judging by this photo. Or am I mistaken?

Could it be in the handle?

Could it be in the handle?

The fact that it says on the bat "carbon fibre spring" would suggest that it is in the handle.

Other manufacturers were using steel springs, so carbon fibre would be a logical step. Carbon fibre started being used in aircraft engines in the 60s which would fit in with bat which is probably late 60s / early 70s
