I'm in need of a cheap piece of kit, but probably the most important......A new box!!
At nets last night I took one full on from a spinner and the box shattered, thank god it wasn't a quick bowling.
Anyway, I think I have only owned two boxes in the 26 years I've been playing cricket. A junior one, and then the current one I've used for about the last 18 years.
I've always basically just bought basic, cheap ones. What do people recommend, is there any reason to pay a bit extra for something better or do I just buy another bog standard, cheap box?

I have the Aero one, works well.

Shock docs mate, can you really put a price on the Crown Jewels?!

Haha, I guess not! :D

Or you can join the queue, waiting for @StrettonFox Sports..

I'll second the Aero one, works well for me! I didn't really appreciate how important the fit of a box was until the father in law pinned me with an inswinger from the bowling machine at 82mph that nearly bisected my left testicle!!!

also patiently waiting for the new stretton box

GM do one that I think is rather good, plenty of room that my package isn't cramped for room.

Only issue is that it moves a bit if you use Aero batting shorts.
Recently got an Aero box which didn't move at all when used with Aero batting shorts.

Only issue is that it was a bit chafey round my pubes the first time I used it, which may have been down to not putting it in the pouch of my shorts properly.

I have a shock box carbo,
Fits in most other shorts and jock straps
Best most important bit of kit.
-
I'll 3rd the Aero box, excellent protection, doesn't move, and I was able to heat it and mould it to the shape of my enormous plums.
-
Aero box and briefs ordered. Thanks for all your help and suggestions guys.
-
I honestly find the slazenger briefs to be the best out of all I have tried

Shock Doctor carbon fibre, without doubt the best.
-
I too am in the queue for a @StrettonFox Sports box. George, why won't you protect my plums already?
-
I had a Shock Doctor carbon fibre once, it was really good until someone stole it.
Who steals a box??
-
not a shock doctor one if they have any sense... got one of these last year and threw it in the boot impossible to use and desparatley uncomfortable.
gone back the standard type.
Maybe it's me I found them the most uncomfortable box to wear ever......
-
I have a shock doctor with the jock strap it came with, wouldn't like to use it without that or some other sort of pouch though as it's a bit rubbery. That said in the JS it's a great fit and a good deal better than a standard box if one is struck amidships.

Does the aero fit in a normal jock?
