My jaw just hit the floor! That is absolutely huge! I am guessing this collingwoods bat?
-
Hmm not sure about worlds biggest bat but that does look massive, I heard one of the south africans uses a 4lb bat to practice with in the nets, so that his match bat "feels like a wand"
-
that is outrageous!
-
Collis King's Nixon by a street!!!!!!!!

i think vaughan said this about collingwood, but may have been a saffer?
-
certaily looks big, but quite hard to see because of the angle...
there was one of a similar size when i visited salix.
-
it looks laminated?
-
Has anyone got a CJI Fatso? If so please post pics
-
it looks laminated?
certaintly does
-
good spot, i can see that now
-
think it is collingwoods ,he's sponsored by yorkshire bank i think? has carberry been called up to the test squad or is it a performance squad thingy?
-
Carberry has been called up as a precaution for Collingwood's finger injury...
-
I do - I have a CJI Fatso L.E which I got from Hit4six, and it's immense!!
I will post pics soon. Think the edges must be 55mm! ;D
-
i made up a bat with 50mm edges, theres a topic somewhere..
-
it looks laminated?
I've noticed more pro's using anti scuff than ever before, is this linked to laminated bats?
or softer pressing.

when they fibre tape on the edge you want to have a close look!
-
So what happened to the big beast with 50mm edges???

Please can we see your Fatso?
-
You will have to give me a bit of time to dig the camera out!
-
collingwood is doing that so his match bat feels like a twig, my dad told me about it,
sounds polarizable
-
its in the workshop,up on the wall
-
One for big bat lovers, my CJI Sumo LE, weighs 3lb 2oz, 60mm edges:

Damn! That is beautiful! Brings a tear to my eye
-
Plausible?
thank u AIRidd haha

Must be why Ponting's bat had a rediculous ammount of tape on it at one stage...
Tendulkar's as well.
-
That bat is huge!
-
how much of a difference does the laminate make?
-
Lots
-
its all about muscle memory and training exact muscles needed for that individual batting as we dont all play shots the same way, so a standard work out to train up these muscles and serve all would be pointless as you might use a different muscle to somebosy else while playing the same shot, the best way to do that is to use a weighted item, like the bat we have seen on this topic... many golfers use weighted clubs in training aswell for the same purpose
-
how much of a difference does the laminate make?
Some people say its all psychological
-
Surely when you use your 2lb..... match bat you would get through the shots far too early if your used to a 3lb.... monster?
-

I think with laminates the idea is that you can have a hard layer over the top of an unpressed layer increasing the rebound.
-
Ok - as requested....another CJI Fatso big boy coming up!
Not as big as Craigs! as 60mm edges are just mental. But have given a comparison for the Fatso here!
I wanted to give a comparison against a meaty bat, so that you could see the difference. I therefore used a CA8000 plus (stickers removed and replaced by Genuine Slaz Oz ones)
Enjoy - for you fat lovers out there! ;)

And a couple more to start the new year with some fleshy willow!!!!

The CJI weighs in at around 3lb 5/6oz
The CA (Slaz) weighs in at 2lb 9/10oz
Edges on CJI - 55mm: Edges on CA - 35mm+
-
The CJI is a heavy beast but luckily I am 17 stone and not fat! So it doesn't feel massively heavy for me.
And the pick-up is actually prettt good!
I think that if anywhere on the blade connects to a ball, then the ball will be gone!
-
pete you sound like should be playing rugby!
can someone explain to me how a laminate works?
-
hard layer on top, so on impact the ball looses less energy so rebounds faster. soft layer underneath to obtain the trampoline effect. putting them together you get less energy loss and more ping!!
-
Surely when you use your 2lb..... match bat you would get through the shots far too early if your used to a 3lb.... monster?
-
The Oz Blade looks superb! How much was it inc stickers?
-
cheers slogger, does make sense
-
The Slaz Oz (CA 8000 plus) is a really nice bat! But spoilt by the damn CA stickers!!
The nice Slaz Oz stickers were from GCCC, so never cheap! But I got the bat for under £80, so all in all - a very nice grade 1 with lush stickers, and high ping-o-meter reading for around £100!
Not sure what stickers to put on the CJI bat, as I think the standard CJI stickers look too fussy!!
I was thinking get some surfer stickers to customise the bat, as I will use it as more of a training bat anyway?
-
That is a monster Pete!
Would love to have a go with a bat like that.
I think bats look a bit silly when they have rediculous size edges...
-
I wouldnt think that colly would use a heavy bat to make his match bat feel light.
There was a similar idea in golf with a practice club that was twice as heavy, the idea was that it would be easier to keep the club on line.
I think the idea with the bat is that id would make it easier to get your hands through the ball, improving driving especially. It makes sense as if anyones ever used a really light bat theyll know its harder to keep the bat on line. Using the heavy one should ingrain the correct feeling!
-
It is beautiful lol
-
Heres a better picture for you monster bat lovers....

Something called sarcasm. Should have added a wink emoticon, to give the effect
-
That is huge, wonder how much it weighs!
-
Great picture for a caption competition!
-
just got a 4lb bat for hit4sixy! its gonna be massive! might sticker it up as a slazenger like colly! but obvs the old stickers!
-
Haha it simply looks like they've took stickers and a handle on the cleft!
-
bat looks as if it's a laminate - could be lighter than you think because of this
-
Dom, can you Pm when you find out about postage costs for the bag?
-
Woah that is one massive bat. Who needs an eye in bat with that thing, the edges would do just fine!
-

yeah that does clearly look like 2 bits doesn't it, completely different colours!
-
The lamination on that bat will not give the effect caused by others, i.e. 25% more power. It could have been made from one piece if needed, just cut your clefts bigger and then it would not be illegal for match play.
-
Someone metioned about collis king and i played against him when he played for bardsey evening league towards the end of the season and his bat was 4lb it was a newish one aswell and it was ridiculosuly big soo i compared it to my ca 8000 with 35 mm edges and its was dwarfed he had a couple of them in his bag!! but he use to have 2 bats stuck together as a few of my teammates told me : /
-
I know this isn't the world biggest bat but I wanted to share it..
I'm knocking in a friends bat and just thought I'd look on youtube for some tips. In the video I was surprised at the size of the bat if it was on general sale...
What do you think?
