I believe that up until now he's still using his old GMs re-stickered. Now he's going to be back in the UK I imagine that'll change for the English summer
-
It haSS New Balance SStickers, SSo it'SS made by New Balance.
-
Sondhi make new balance bats. Presumably they are able to make a bat to Joe Root's specification

I believe NB has access to various batmakers to produce bats for their pros. Most of those have been mentioned above.
-
All the NB bats are made by FC Sondhi in Jalandhar. For their sponsored players & the general market as well.

That's not true. I know for a fact (as do many others on here) that many NB sponsored players often have bats made elsewhere.

Apart from the pd09 that's marketed as uk made.

Don't forget little Gazza Ballance!

One of my lads I coach is M&H sponsored, and when he was down picking up his kit he was told that M&H make a lot of NB bats. May not make the pro's but from what i'm told they make the regular bats
-
Perhaps M&H and New Balance come from the same factory
-

Hmmmm, that throwSS an intereSSting Spanner into the workSS...
I thought FC Sodhi made New Balance and SS made M&H M&H made their batSS in England
-
I wasn't at M&H factory with the lad, I work for his dad and was asked to take him but couldn't, but I have been told several times by my boss that M&H make the NB bats down in Taunton

New Balance bats for retail are made in India.

I think we get it, you think they're made by SS

I didn't think they even made the majority of M&H bats there any more, let alone other brands lol
-

Lol they don't even make m and h bats anymore.
-

I read somewhere that he went through a lot of bats last years. Like 30 or something. So it seems unlikely that he's still using his old GMs.
-

Considering he got his bat custom done there, chose the profile shape, suggests they do make (at least some) M&H bats there.
Only just seen the IJC thread about M&H... meant to be doing a job application but got a bit sidetracked. Didn't mean to reopen the can of worms! Just reporting what I've been told.
-
I'm sure kippax have made him a few, though I think it was a few years ago.

Exactly Vitas, last time I read was that all the retail for NB cricket comes from FC Sondhi. Also you can spot the similarities in Softs of Protos (FC sondhi's Own brand) and NB.

That's who I thought made his bats aswell

They look and feel like Sondhi made Slazengers.

It seems likely that he might have visited them at some point.

Wouldn't surprise me if he'd had a few sticks from them as they'd be his "local" bat maker I guess.
I beleive it may have been you who mentioned it previously, but a couple of the England ODI players use Kippax made bats too

Kippax isn't local to Sheffield. Notts is closer. Don't you mean England ODI playerSS or have you made the point now? :D

If they're using Kippax bats it would be stupid to make that point, as neither M&H or SS have anything to do with it...

Don't Yorkshire play at Headingley?

They do indeed

We don't know that. But it does seem improbable.

Well, Kippax is pretty local to that.

Indeed. And if Joe played more than one game for Yorkshire last season, I'd be inclined to agree with you.
-
Okay, it's unlikely that Joe Root has had bats made by Kippax because he doesn't spend enough time in Yorkshire?
What a daft thread.
-
No, I was disputing the assertion that Kippax is his local batmaker.
-
M&H bats are amazing! Better than many on this forum.
Also, that M&H thread is nothing but BS.

not worth the price are they ?
-
does it really matter who makes his bats? he is getting paid to use NB stickers. that much is contractual. beyond that he is free to pick whichever one of 100s of bats get delivered to him from different manufacturers.
we also know the list of possible manufacturers all over the world...i'm sure they've each sent him at least a few. so....maybe lock the thread? ;)
-

Worth every penny!
-
I think it is often forgotten that a lot of top players actually prefer Indian bats.
-
He still has them made at GM. It's a thicker-edged version of the Mana which he has been using since the beginning of 2015. Since then the shape hasn't changed. Previous to this his bats were a similarly chunkier version of the Six6 (personally I prefer this profile. In fact so much so that I actually own one of his bats from 2014).
New Balance retail bats are made by Sareen. Millichamp and Hall as far as I know have absolutely nothing to do with new balance. A cursory inspection of one of their bats would clear this up as they are vastly different in many ways.
-
Weren't GM a little annoyed that he left them?
I'm sure NB were Sondhi made when they first came onto the market. Has this changed?

That's quite an impressive first post, by the way.
-
B&S make them :) ;) only joking who ever does make them Great Work scoring runs for fun and long may it continue

Hi welcome to the forum.
I have it on good authority that GM don't make Joe Root's bats any more (they gave a lefty over to a friend who has been working with gm for almost 10 years.)
And sondhi make the nb bats.
That is clear when you see that their shapes are the same as the slazenger bats.
-
Lad on my course has had a different nb bat at each week, keep breaking very quickly, but they all felt good in the hands and picked up well, which for me is the main thing.
-
SS have been making Roots bats and he has been using them since a certain wicket keeper gave him a few believe it or not even before his GM contract came to a end.
As for the future who knows.

More impressive from a seasoned campaigner!
