Title: seeking a club for 2017 season
Post by: HellomynameisJ on April 05, 2016, 01:51:43 AM
Hi everyone, I'm just expressing interest In joining a club in the UK (anywhere at this stage) for the 2017 season. I'm 23 years old, based in Melbourne and a highly active member on and off field for my local cricket club, I have been a member of our club committee for the past 4 years, and in that time have also coached 2 junior sides. On the feild I bat anywhere from the top of the order to 6, having made 3 senior hundreds in our 2's, including 132 after returning from a hamstring injury in the season just past. I have been both a wicket keeper and a leg spin bowler in our first side which plays in a highly competitive competition which is of a good standard. I'm not looking to take money from a club, I only wish to further myself as a cricketer and a person, I believe I would be a great addition to any club who wishes to be successful, but who also plays the game in the right spirits. Like I said, I don't wish to take money off a club, the only thing I'd require would be work and some accommodation to be arranged.

Thank you for reading! P.s. if anyone is wishing to make the same trip to melbourne my club is always on the lookout for players and I'm sure a similar work/accommodation arrangements can be figured out!. We are a small club surrounded by bush, farms and wineries with 4 senior sides located on the picturesque mornington peninsula, so you're only 5-10 minutes away from what are some of the best beaches in victoria.

Again, thank you for reading.
Kind Regards!

Thanks alot mate, I just thought I'd get the ball rolling early so to speak and if anyone was interested in coming over for the next Australian summer the two clubs could possibly arrange some exchange opportunities for future seasons. Fingers Crossed!  :)

If you want to freeze to death on Scottish wickets my club's always looking for players ;) scores of 150 are great on our home ground! I'm heading back home to NSW after this coming season.

Very interesting, I've not heard too much of cricket in Scotland, and I don't mind the cold at all (always love donning the vest), what is the standard like?
