Right folks,
Heading off to Amsterdam (very early) Friday morning for a long weekend of cricket/pre season capers.
We are being hosted by VRA Cricket Club, home club to Peter Borren and Tom Cooper as far as I'm aware.
We are playing one T20 and two full 50 over games on Sat/Sun. Unfortunately given the weather we are likely to be on an artificial pitch, which is a pest but can't be helped!
Anyone been/anything to expect massively different in Holland to the UK cricket wise?

Always been made very welcome by the VRA lads. Large complex/sports area (if you include the nearby hockey and tennis) but with still a 'gezellig' feel to the ground. Dutch cricket in general is very social, especially when they mix with Brits. We won the league on their second pitch once.
You can check the weather on the link or download the Buienradar app itself.

All othe opp team joind in with getting smashed on beers and shots after thee game. The Waitress started making out with our 'younger' members (all over 18!).
They rode bikes though amsterdam to the cricket match!

Toured Holland a couple of times. VRA is a great club we were unlucky in that we went 2 weeks before Holland were due to play Ireland there so had to settle on playing on the lovely little back pitch. They were fantastic hosts and put on a great spread. As mentioned above the Dutch love hosting English touring teams.

I'd ask @LeonieKelly18 given that's where she plays!

I last saw her about a year ago in the nets at Sparta. Bat sponsor was Woodstock. Well at least that's what she let her dad use.

I've played there, very nice ground and great hospitality
If you don't enjoy Amsterdam you're doing something wrong, great city

Eyup!
Vra has got a grass wicket if your playing on the first field. Second field is a walk away but arti pitch and last time I played there it looked like an over used football field.
But the international games get played on the main field. Which I've loved playing on! As long as you watch out for the tree!
Great club though, nice people!
Depending on which team you play it's a good side and good drinkers too.
If your looking for the best town in NL though you should be in Rotterdam. Just saying!!

Pretty sure we'll be on the football field then :(
Forecast is looking a little better now. Half the team is there already sampling various things I'm sure.
Toughest part is packing kit... so many decisions!
Sure it will be a good experience, not sure how meaningful the cricket will be mind you. We've only 4 first XI lads going...
I'm making a keeping comeback after 3/4 years, so that won't be pretty.
