Title: Customer service issue
Post by: mohawks94 on April 08, 2016, 12:12:51 PM
Wanted to get some opinions on my situation:
Ordered about 800 quid of kit from Legget and Coe on Sunday. Have had payment confirmation from PayPal, and order confirmation emails from L&C. Since Sunday I have heard nothing, despite their terms and conditions saying it would be dispatched within two days. I've been in touch but had no response from sales.
Trying to decide if I call them and enquire, or give them a couple of days and open a case on PayPal.
All opinions appreciated!

Phone them and get the reason before jumping in with a PayPal claim.
You'll look a bit of a tit if you put in a claim and it's shipped the same day (trust me, I'm speaking from experience here...)

So would have been shipped by Tues/Weds at the latest, hardly an eternity up to now is it? Imagine it's a busy period, too.

Its the lack of any communication which is the concern rather than slow shipping, even if it is slightly annoying.

Ah the modern world, what did we do before emails?! Ah yes picked up the phone.

You could try a fax or carrier pigeon if the phones a issue 😳

Decided if I hear nothing by the end of business trading tomorrow then I will open a case.
Also decided to go with what the forum trusts, and having seen a lot of Focus UK and Aus on twitter/instagram I will be making a trip to Jake at Vitas, or at least sending a sizeable order in.
Was undecided between Icon and Focus, but the fact that all the Focus stuff looks amazing on the Vitas page has swayed me

With an order of £800 I'd imagine it's a fair bit of kit to gather up, is ring them and check before opening a PayPal case.

Did u not touch base with then beforehand if ordering that much kit???

I didn't check before which I should have done, but the website says everything I ordered was in stock.
I rang this afternoon but it is a mobile number, went to voicemail.
Definitely a big order, most cost is two bats, so would definitely be a big parcel to deliver.

Checking on PayPal to see the dispute process, and it listed another email address. Tried that but it is undeliverable. Not looking promising.

Opening paypal dispute is a good option but it should exercised as last resort. If you open a dispute now for shipping/tracking info then its done. If the seller provides a tracking number, paypal will close the case saying seller has provided necessary info. If the goods don't get delivered after the dispute is closed then you are in trouble because you cant raise multiple disputes on the same invoice.

Wait patiently. Keep trying to reach the seller. I had an issue with OLS, for which i filed a paypal case after waiting for 60 days. Now the dispute has been partially refunded, still waiting for the rest. It's been almost 2 months since the case was opened. Paypal can be pain sometimes for the buyer too.

This is one reason why i am preferring to credit card method for purchase nowadays. The refund is almost immediate and the banks are a lot more sensible in dealing with non-delivery of goods.

Still had radio silence, so opened a dispute.
Suspect that they aren't trading anymore, and having received car insurance and road tax reminders I decided to act now rather than wait.

Finally a response!
Shipping confirmation has come through. I wont close the dispute/claim until kit is in my hands though in case it is a tactic to stop my dispute (which I doubt but worth bearing in mind)

Good that you got the info. Now all you need to do is post some pics once you get this kit  :D

Turns out the dispatch notice on Monday was BS. Been checking Hermes website, they only received it this morning... Still waiting.

Noahs Ark arrived whilst I was at work. Must have been using the compare the meerkat postkat's satnav it took so long. Kit looks very good and expect some pics in the 2016 kit thread. I am also expecting some questions from mother as she signed for it and didn't know how much I'd ordered...

@mohawks94 Did you make the schoolboy orror of mentioning you bought it?
Best trick is to act surprised and say you won a competition  ;)
