Hi all
So thought I would share with you my new and final purchase for 2016 season, this has been in the back ground for a few months but I only recieved on a Friday as its a brand new bat from Kieron at a Heritage cricket.
I had seen Kieron's brand a few years ago and from the off liked the brand in terms of its design and the fact its a small boutique UK bat maker ( only got softs in the last year I believe). Any way been following on Facebook and Kieron really takes a lot of pride in his brand and spoke to him in detail about my requests and we came with this.
I prefer higher middles bats and when I contacted Kieron first time around he had the typhoon and spitfire models only but I was after a high middle long profile bat. Kieron told me he had a new bat coming and that it would match all my needs and requirements and that I could have the first model No 001 ( each bat is numbered and you can have personal touches like initials on edge or on top of handle etc)
Anyway onto the bat so this is 2.11 which is heavier than normally use but initial feelings are that this feels lovely on the hands, pick up seems excellent. This is the top of the range Reserve Bin model made from G1 English willow. Bats are shaped and pressed by Kieron in his own little workshop (I haven't visited yet but had detailed chats with Kieron about this) 10 straight grains, 40mm edges with a thin semi oval handle and double grip included in 2.11 weight. Now this taps up like a bat on steroids I am so impressed with performance of this bat. The middle starts about 2 inches from the toe but is so long. Rounded face as well. Finishing is also top notch with the bat perfectly polished and sent in a nice padded bat cover with the same scuff sheet as the Hammer Edge stuff.
The only downside at present is that the stickers are quite basic being just printed onto a clear back ground, if Heritage could get embossed stickers I feel they really would be a great addition to the handmade UK bat companies. Heritage are certainly a firm favourite if mine and espicially at the price points. The top of the range bat is £220 and start at £100 for academy grade with 5 star and LE I between as well.

Nice prominent straight grains which should play well simple branding love it

Reasonably local to us. Could be stickers he's applied to other people's bats to spread awareness but all the ones I've seen have been Pak made. He also was fine to discuss batmaking etc with a friend of mine but then came up with a number of odd reasons as to why my friend couldn't visit to see the bat being made, leading to my friend (who's a fairly suspicious guy) to not follow up with the order.
Just my experience of course but I can only base my opinion on what I've seen. It's probably the biggest reason why genuine brands rarely, if ever allow their stickers to go on other bats.
Agree the stickers could be better, they smudge extremely readily on a bowling machine.

Love the shape!!!

Thanks Jake hopefully not as he seemed a very nice, pleasant and honest guy. I did ask a lot of questions about the bats and was assured that this was UK make by him and pressed etc. Maybe I'm gullible but hopefully not.

Love the shape!!!
Thanks mate it's one of my favourite profiles along with my BB net bat that's a similar kind of profile just maybe not quite as higher middle as this

I had one off him a few years ago when he first was getting going. What I ended up with was the shape I asked for but much heavier. It ended up as a club bat in out LMS kit bag. It wasn't bad and I'm fairly sure it wasn't a Pakistan made bat due to the shape and finish.

Looks cracking.. Like the color scheme on the bat cover but the branding is too much..

Yes he always comes across as a nice chap, maybe it's just the few examples I've seen that were either just stickered bats or maybe a lower grade offering or something

Bat looks lovely but the stickers are stinkers. Hope it serves you well Chris

Looks like a nice stick, hope you score many runs!

I'm fairly confident Kieron makes all his bats himself. I played a few seasons with him when I was first getting in to my old clubs first team before he moved away. A few years ago but doubt he's changed from the genuine honest guy he was then.

That's good to hear mate thank you

I met him last year at Stamford cricket club. He's a really lovely guy. My only criticism was the bats were very flat faced. I personally hate that but some people love it.
The softs he's got also look top draw
