I've got my first game tomorrow, and I hear it's going to be a little bit nippy out!
In addition to this, I appear to have fallen into the 2nd team due to my magnificent benders in the nets. I was quite chuffed about this until I realised we are playing Weybridge 2XI, a Surrey premiership side, bursting with pre-season talent and young, thrusting bucks.
So, if you want to see a fat, bald man chasing leather around a small ground, or getting pinned repeatedly in the man-boobs by hostile young quicks, then Weybridge is the place to be.
Where are you all playing tomorrow?

called off due to bad weather unfortunately, two weeks in a row :(

Club day tomorrow, 1st away in league, so the other three teams turn up at 12 and we make teams up and play... But yes will be chilly..

playing away in Telford myself against a team that was promoted last year so should be fun as the skins and jumpers are already packed
looking forward to WATCHING the young lads chase the ball while I direct them and cheer them on from slip
-
I to have been placed in our 2nds. Weve got a friendly between our 1st and 2nd team and ive got everything crossed that its not called off as I'm looking forward to impressing our 1st team captain with my glove work behind the stump :D
-
This is my first year as fixture secretary and I've certainly had a baptism of fire. Both games scheduled for this weekend pulled out leaving me with no oppo! I filled my fixture card back in January and thought to myself 'Well, that was easy. I don't know what the old guy was moaning about.'. I hope it's not a sign of things to come!
-
also playing my first games for saturday and sunday teams in taplow and high wycombe, cannot wait, forcast looks good round ere so looking likely to play both games this weekend
-
I'm currently on my way to Cadwell park and won't be home till about 12 tonight.
Haven't even found my whites yet or packed a match bag but.
11.30am meet for net before game tomorrow at home.
Then Sunday, at home again as Sunday side are short.
Busy weekend!!
-
Saturday game called off due to opposition can't raise a side.
Sunday game still on and I'm on tea duties. Can't wait to start playing.
-
Our lass in her Victoria's Secret stash of lingerie or fat blokes in whites?? Hmm I know who I'd rather be with on a Sunday.

First preseason friendly tomorrow away against Frenchay CC, nice big open windy ground is just what you want... Hoping the temperatures will just about nudge into double digits, I went outside on Monday morning this week and immediately ordered a baselayer - don't think jumpers are gonna cover it! The past two years this fixture's been a runfest and I've missed out both times, better concentration required tomorrow.
-
Best of luck all.
May your edges fly to the third man boundary and your long hops end up caught in midwicket's jumper.
-
I'm playing tomorrow hopefully - the square didn't look great on Tuesday: http://i.imgur.com/owWfGCf.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/owWfGCf.jpg)
It's since been rolled daily and the outfield's been cut. It's been dry the last couple of days as well so hopefully it'll come up somewhat playable, otherwise we'll have to use the artificial.
-
Eeyore has two games and both times I'll have 400 balls pre game just to get the feet moving.,sadly I missed out on a fifth 50 in a row last week with a 42* but let's hope I can get back in the runs. Still not really moving the feet as well outside as in but scoring loads off the back foot as bowlers still get sucked into bowling back of a length or short .. Nom nom nom
2xi huh Bruce, you'll be in the 1xi by the end of th season at this rate !!

Usually a road there, nice easy track for a pre season bat.. Enjoy

Piglet respect's Eeyore's warm up routine - however, they only way I'd get into the 1's would be mass food poisoning.

Playing Sunday, weather claims to be dark, bleak skies. Jumpers on...
-

Well done Brucey, they won't know what to make of you - perhaps it all started with those Oval nets in the autumn :) Good luck. A bit frustratingly I seem to be further away from the 2nd XI than I was last season owing to an influx of players into the 1s, in spite of making a good start in my first friendly last Sunday, 38 on a deathly slow pitch and even slower outfield (well that's good by my standards in alien conditions for me). Think I'll have to score shedloads to get a look in.
-
First friendly tomorrow against @Colesy team, assuming he is still playing cricket and just absent from CBF.
Having said that its been raining steadily for a couple of hours now with no sign of improvement so wouldn't be a massive surprise if it was called off :(
-
would be mass food poisoning.
It could be arranged by spiking some cakes.. Waste of cakes though
-
Looking forward to our game tomorrow after last weeks washout! We're at home against West Bretton. Balls been coming out nicely all winter so hoping for that to continue into the season.
-
First game tomorrow , a friendly away, so hope weather stays dry
-
I was due to play tomorrow before I bust my thumb.
However the weather is doing it's best to make sure I don't spend my day sulking about missing the game.

Sunday game cancelled as our square is to wet, first league game next sat
-
Our game was called off at 10.00 due to wet pitch.
Thanks to the power of Twitter replacement found by 10.20!
See you at Frenchay CC @edge
-
Only first team games this weekend, so looks like ill be taking the dogs down and sinking a few jars.
-
Our game was called off on tuesday due to wet ground... bit early!?
I'm not fit anyhow, manflu and a cut on my index finger at the joint, should be fit for nets and inter-club game next week, followed by a sunday game for another club.
I feel like I've struggled against the quicks in the few nets I've been able to go to, but I'm looking forward to getting outside and letting the ball come to me! :D
-
We played today and was freezing. Had a skin on, a tshirt, two cricket shirts and a long sleeve shirt on top. Ridiculous temperature to be playing cricket in
-
our game was rained off, when everyone else around us played, soo annoyed
-
Soooo cold today!
And I've played in snow before.
Must be my age
I had two jumpers on and a mountain equipment down jacket for fielding!
-
It was freezing when the sun went behind the clouds. Got a duck too so sat around for many hours.
-
A glorious sunny day in Falmouth, easily around the 15 degree mark... Only to be working in the shop instead :(
