Title: Bat needed for a new player
Post by: Marc28 on April 24, 2016, 04:51:51 PM
Hi all

Been down to the club and met a few new players across our 3 teams.
A chap called Mike has started taking up this game of ours again but borrowed kit from some of the lads.
So question for everyone and sponsors too,
I'm after a bat for him weight about 2,10-11 preferably used or match ready as not to fussed on brands as he's a number 10 11 player in our team.
Price range about 100 pounds is ok if cheaper available then great.
Also if anyone in the Derby area has one I can come and collect tomorrow if ok as not working day off for working Saturday

Thanks

Great to have lapsed players coming back.

Number 10/11, not a badger, £100 price range sounds like an eBay buy to me.

Softs wise, personally I'd prefer new so I'd be looking mid-range. Kook, NB, GN would be where I'd start.

Got a nice New Balance or CA in the sale section that may suit, both under budget too

That New Balance does look like a superb stick. Great value.

Buy a v800 fusion for £57 on sports direct. They are an absolute bargain.

Here is one I picked up...

Thanks guys
Ive looked at the sports direct ones but they are very hit and miss,
Plus he doesn't want a new bat that needs hours of work just one he can net with and then use to block out if needed on a Saturday

Yes and no to this.
If you can go in store and see they'ne nice sticks then go for it.
If you buy online and end up with a 3lb5 lump that's been concaved to within an inch of its life, and has 3 grains and a big knot on the face they're not such a bargain.

You'd be much better off buying a bargain bat from a forumite who's selling quality Willow at giveaway prices, sounds like a fully knocked in CA Gold would be perfect if he can't be bothered with the knocking in process  ;)

I've got a 2lb9  gm icon.  Taken all stickers off. Used a few times in nets and once in a match. Could do it £100 posted

@Buzz I think we need to see the profile of this bargain, and confirmation of the weight.
