Just started coaching - don't worry I have been on a course and passed a CRB!! I love using a catching mitt and wondered if people has any recommendations. used a few with the coach at my club but want my own, as a player as much as anything, for practice,
Therefore, I ask the advice of the forum anyone found a good one? is a basebal mitt ok? are the cricket ones any different?
thanks

I think our club coach uses a Sports Direct special and it does a good enough job.
I think it's just something to prevent damaging your hands by repeatedly taking throws wanged in at pace.

Depends on how much you want to spend really, and how much you will be using it! Fearnley cricket does a decent mitt for about £40 i think - i get ours from a baseball shop and they are great but cost around £60!

We supply a Wilson one to a number of clubs which is in leather and priced at £38.99. There are cheaper ones available but they won't last as long and if you're coaching I/m sure you would want something better.

Both my mitts I bought in the US, a Mizuno and a Rawlings, but by far my most used piece of coaching gear.

Try e bay I got a top end Mizuno glove for £15 and love it!!
