Title: DIY Bat Refurb
Post by: sHoweller on May 04, 2016, 09:30:35 AM
Ok, so I've decided to take on a little project and refurb an old bat I found lying around in the house.

The bat itself is a Newbury Navarone, which I used to love when I used it.

So far all I have done is strip off the stickers and hammer edge sheet, then given it a very quick sand.

I need to repair damage to the toe, which I will add pictures off.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what glue to use?

Have you done this yourself before using pva?

Julian Millichamp did an extensive youtube video on bat maintenance.

Talks about repairing bat cracking at the 10:00 min mark.

Yes, many times. Super glue is generally used for smaller surface/edge cracks

For damage like that PVA, it gets right into the damaged area and doesn't dry too quickly to clamp it.
super glue is great for sealing surface cracks

Has anyone else got any refurbs they've done and are particularly proud of?
