Hi All,
About 3-4 years ago, I saw a video on youtube about a coach giving a lesson to his student on hitting a backfoot punch. The student was an older man (not a young player or a school kid) and the coach was teaching him the technique of hitting a full (swing thru the ball) backfoot punch, not a "checked" drive. The nuance of his technique was moving the gloves thru the line of the ball or something which I can't remember. It was by far the best technique for hitting a powerful backfoot punch. I hate checked drive as they are not powerful enough for slow bowlers.
So, why am I posting about the video? Because, for the life of me, I can't find it anymore. It was the best technique and if I could get a hold of that coach I would work with him on my game. In the video, he sounded Australian. And, he was giving the batter throw downs to practice the backfoot punch. If you remember the video or have the link to it, please post it. I will be grateful. Thanks.

Hey Internal,
I remember these guys having some pretty good coaching vids! Australian as well, it might not be though. Just a guess :)

Hey @ch1p , Yeah, I scoured these videos but did not find the one I was looking for. These videos are great though and one of their batsman is an ace batter! Thanks though. :)

Sounds like it could be a video from John Inverarity. I'm practicing the same technique. He always promoted a full, uninhibited swing through the line of the ball.

Checked drives look pretty and work on fast outfields but do crap on 3-5 inch high grass!!!!!

And they have to be well timed.
I'm working on batting with more intent and aggression. I'm working at swinging through the line, finishing with the bat over my left shoulder and the handle pointing in the direction of the shot. Trying to hit at 80% and keep my shape.
Brian Lara was always a great exponent of this style.

^ This is it, thank you!!!!
It looks different than how I remembered it but it was many years ago when I first saw it. You have restored my faith in crowd-sourcing again. :D
How did you find it? I spent hours and found all sorts of crappy videos.
