Pads, AJ Sports Hi-Tech
Helmet, Masuri Titanium
Shoes, Handmade Bowling Boots, when I could run in....

LOL!!! Good one big boy. The last bit would give you more protection for off field activities.....need something tougher on-filed to make sure you can still sue it off-field. :) ;)
-

-
Helmet: Masuri Titanium (anything else will be a big compromise on safety)
Yash this is an interesting comment in that masuri are the least safest helmet after Ayrtek and Albion. BSI testing of the helmets confirms this.
-
My Ricky Ponting gloves came and they have topped my Grizzlies, the pittards is so soft!
-
I'd rather have a Masuri on my head than Albion any day of the week.
-
I bet Daniel Flynn wished he'd been wearing a Masuri!
-
he still uses the albion, but has the old centurion grill. I love my masuri, wouldn't swap it for any helmet
-
I bet Daniel Flynn wished he'd been wearing a Masuri!
i bet he wishes he had an ayrtek! :P
-
I bet Daniel Flynn wished he'd been wearing a Masuri!
Would have been even worse injury if he had a masuri.
-
Would have been even worse injury if he had a masuri.
thats not true, the grill set up on the albion makes it crush inwards, the masuri doesn't.
-
Yeha i think you're best of getting hit on the grill of the masuri or the shell of the albion.
Or not at all!!
-
Bat, gunn and moore maxi original l.e, but I feel the new redback will blow that out of the water.
Pads, M&H S6 very comfy pads
Gloves M&H S6, these gloves always felt like they weren't there, very light and comfortable.
Helmet, Albion test with soon to be Ayrtek titanium grille.
Thigh pad, Plain unbranded thigh pad, big and comfortable with lots of protection,
Spikes, adidas 22 yard low, lighter versions.
-
if you watch the slow motion video the entire helmet flexes which causes the grill to flex outwards and towards his face. Effectively being squashed due to the plastic shell being deformed similary to a balloon when being sat on.
It is true that if the albion grills weld points broke it would crush inwards towards your temples!!! where as the masuri grill welds are pinned between the helmet and the mounting plates of the grill.
Id be interested to see a pic of someones Albion grill if they have one handy and the mounting plates used on them now on the inside section?!
-
I'll bring one with the Ti grille next week if you want Tom.
-
Cool nice one mate think their Ti grills are ok it was more the bog standard steel grill issued on the club helmets that I wondered if they had changed/amended??
-
Hi, Just been watching the IPL game and was wondering about the foam parts on the sides of a helmet grill. what do they do as I bought an ayrtek titanium grill and fitted it to my albion helmet. Made a huge weight difference but don't have the foam parts. Is it for safety in case I get cracked on the side of the helmet?

Thought you prefered your remfry
The StrettonFox shape edges Remfry out.
Bottom part of Remfry would shrug against top hat of pads which is annoying.
That's only concern really.

-
what would everyone say the best thigh pads are ? at reasonable price ?
-
I use Aero P2 thigh pads, as they are fine for my standard.
But I am sorting some Stretton Fox as they are light and mega comfy!
Plus I would like to feel like I'm not wearing thigh pads!
So it depends on your budget!
Small budget the P2's are more than good enough!
-
thanks pete always had the aeros in mind was just wondering other options ,
how much are the stretton fox thigh pads ?
-
They are a lot in comparison. Aeros are genuinely great.

Best bat would be either my Gray Nics Powerbow (Harrow) or my TLB sample that I got off Tom.
Softs wise would either be my Vulcans I had or my current Oblivion test gear, lid would be my Masuri Ti and extra protection my trusted Aeros. Spikes being my Puma Calibre Tricks LE, still going strong and this is their third season - only need to change the spikes when they go blunt!
Never found a bag that has kept me happy. (Sound like a woman!)

Bat: Very difficult to choose but my Salix Pod just gets it. Closely followed by my Newbery Uzi & Stac Black Prince.
Pads: Stac Black Prince, they are so light (Look exactly the same as Ayrtek Premier ones). Only ever owned 3 pairs in 30 years I've been playing. One pair every 10 years isn't bad.
Gloves: Willostix Stick, love them look very classy, even better than my salix pod blacks.
Bag: Newbery Test. Still going strong after 15 odd years.
Protection: Aero p2's. Just had them this year and very impressed.
Helmet: Masuri Ti. This is my 3rd helmet so hard to believe I've had as many as sets of pads in my life time.
Spikes: Asics
Always been bat obsessed and try different ones all the time. Then shift them on unless they special. My team mates think I have a problem! I've never really got the bug for kit but that has begun to change since joining the forum. Now own several pairs of gloves for the first time and actually looking to get new pads even though my Stac's are still great.
-
Bat: Currently Puma Calibre 5000 or my CA 12000 - Amazing Bat but only lasted 1.5 seasons
Pads: Blenheim Pads - Super Comfy and just the right size for a slighter shorter person as myself
Gloves: Blenheim
Lid: Masuri Steel Black
Bag: Salix Pod Pro Wheelie
Aero Strippers - By Far the best piece of kit in my bag.
-
