What can you do to stop new pads from squeaking?
-
put leather conditioner on the instep

Great thanks mate! 👍🏾

I had a bad case of squeaky pads last season when I had Asics spikes. But this season I've been using the Adidas SL22 and there's been no problem. What spikes do you use?

I'm using puma evo speeds.

Haha! I got some new pads just before the end of the Australian summer and experienced this for the first time.
I actually like it. Every game, i had the umpire make a comment and we struck up a good conversation.
Didn't get given out LBW after i bought them ;)..... I'm sure it was the squeaky pads and not the work i did on my technique..... :o

Try body moisturizing cream on the the instep.. It worked on my squeeky adidas bowling spikes.

If its just the pads squeaking against your shoes, have you tried putting the bottom of your whites over the tongue of your spikes and sit the pads on that, using your whites as a buffer almost?

that just reminded me, as a kid we used to tuck our pants into our sock, no idea why but it was the norm.
pre Velcro days buckles only

Gee I think I was playing in shorts pre velcro days, was a lot more common then.

Derek Randall used to just cut the bottoms off his pads. Pretty extreme but when they're rolling round the back of your legs they should stop squeaking!

Think I might pass on cutting my pads haha not paying loads just to cut them up 🙈
