Title: Website feedback
Post by: The Cricket Boutique on May 25, 2016, 08:21:18 AM
Hi Gents (and Ladies).

I am looking for some feedback on my website!

As you are all interested in Custom Bats and Cricket in general then I would really appreciate it if you could have a quick look at my site and give me any feedback, good or bad.

Is there anything that you think should be changed? how is the speed of the site on whatever device you are using? etc etc. (it all helps with SEO and Google rankings).

Please note that I am not yet a forum sponsor (although hoping to become one shortly) and this is not a sales pitch!

The website is www.thecricketboutique.co.uk (http://www.thecricketboutique.co.uk) and you will find links to my Facebook, twitter and youtube on there also.

Any feedback on my social media sites would also be really appreciated.

Thanks again!

Hey,

The site could be a lot quicker, here's a good link which will give you pointers of how to speed it up https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.thecricketboutique.co.uk/rriYpFQs (https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.thecricketboutique.co.uk/rriYpFQs) Which one of the major things you can do is change the size of the images.

As for the site itself, I personally think it's lacking information of your USP and it goes straight into purchasing the products on the homepage without creating a need for the customer to buy from you. No offence meant, I mean this as constructive criticism - but it looks a bit boring and simple - that's my personal thought anyway.

Thanks for the link @mattw No I don't take any offence. All feedback is good!

I reckon that "Welcome to The Cricket Boutique" Blurb at the bottom should be at the top. Make your customers know the company before the stock

Thanks @SirScottiod sounds like 100% (2/2) agreement on that change.

Same as others, move the Welcome to the top and then the products.

Apart from that I like the fact it is photo's of the actual bat you will be buying.

@Calzehbhoy Thanks for the feedback. Yes I wanted to go down the individual photo route (even though it takes lots of time) so glad you like that!

@Calzehbhoy Thanks for the feedback. Yes I wanted to go down the individual photo route (even though it takes lots of time) so glad you like that!

You could insert a Embeded YouTube Video of a review of the Bat and a 'Ping' Test. I find these very helpful when looking at a bat to buy.

@Churchy1989 I will have a look at doing this in the future as well as adding them to the Youtube Channel. Thanks for the feedback!

Eclipse All Sports do it..http://www.eclipseallsports.co.uk/index.php/bats/hellfire-pro-02.html (http://www.eclipseallsports.co.uk/index.php/bats/hellfire-pro-02.html)

You can review the Softs and Bags as well, maybe a Demo of the Bags with Kit in, so the buyer can judge what it good for him!

Agreed with some sort of home page. Let people know why to buy from you and not from elsewhere - especially important for a new business few people will have heard of.

Every shop is different, so getting the USP out there is so crucial to your business. Plus, it gets people to spend longer on the website, which is important for creating sales from visits.

So, following some of the feedback every bat on the site now has a really short review video (really just to show shape/profile etc).

I have not done the ping test on these as I think its a bit misleading to show what is the best looking/performing bat that I have and putting this video on some of the lower grade bats (even though most do go just as well). Personally I think if a ping test video is shown against a bat then it should be that exact bat however I may be wrong  ;)

A few more changes to make but getting there. If anyone has any more feedback then do let me know.

Cheers

IMO more info needed in videos, I only watched the Red Ink one and it was basically a moving picture, no sound required.
Tell us Bat specs, profile what type of player it would suit, info about the bat maker etc etc

Cheers for that @well past my peak .Going forward I intend to review each individual bat that I have so more details will be available on those. The ones I added were really just to help people see the general shape a bit better.

I do fully agree with you though!

Definitely agree that more info on specs etc is needed, size/shape/handle/weight etc, nice and short is a winner though. People love edge sizes, get those in there ha. Good call on not doing a ping test, complete waste of time!

@TCB Those Robert James softs are awesome! Are they a new brand just doing softs, or are they an offspring of a larger brand?

Hi @Rob580 They are nice indeed. They are a custom bat maker and offer a range of bats and the softs you have seen online.
