Basically really out of form atm and wondering if anyone has any tips apart from netting for getting back into touch.
Had a really good winter and started the season well however really dropped off recently
-
watch the ball closer..
watch bowler run out keep saying watch watch watch and watch it
-
there's a thread on here with some very good advise from knowledgable forum members 'hit out or battle it out'
some advise on their might help you...
best advice I could give to anyone is really really watch the ball-train yourself to do it.
as per Procricket above
good luck

There's a lot of people on here with a lot more ability than I have who will be able to impart their experiences and advice. Mine, for what its worth, is that I always seem to give myself the best chance to score runs when I;
a) stand upright, still with my eyes level
b) watch the ball when the bowler approaches the crease - any longer than that and my focus is less (for whatever reason)
c) practice - purposeful practice in the nets definitely pay off

What are you wanting to improve? Are you wanting to improve on a certain shot, just spending more time at the crease or even just picking up runs? If you don't have a plan then training / netting is really pointless.

As I have mentioned in a few other threads on the subject, you aren't out of form, you simply draw a conclusion based on a run of low scores. Be honest with yourself and work out how many times the situation, your shot choice or simply a good ball got you out. Then remember you were playing well a short time ago and nobody turns into a rubbish player overnight. Just keep practising and playing straight. Ultimately time at the crease cures all.

I find hanging around at the crease works wonders your feet move without you knowing you eventually play shots you score runs and your confidence grows.

Big saying at our club 'If you bat, runs will come'
Just bat & bat & bat & bat. It will just click.

this is a different way of looking at 'form' and certainly made me question myself when I read it. I've played for years, 'out of form' for most of 2015..and other seasons...I will perhaps think twice now should the runs dry up before saying 'i'm just out of form'

I scored 400 runs in the league in 2013 and about 43 in 2014. The difference was I batted lower down, had to slog and got the odd good ball. On the rare occasion I did get in or had a chance to get a score I got myself out. It wasn't a problem batting but simply I wasn't converting what opportunities I had. People seek to blame form as opposed to asking themselves if they really had a chance to score runs.
