Hi Guys
Ive been wondering, how do you get the bat in top condition to apply tape of various measures.
I like my bats oiled, usually give them 2-3 days to dry up before applying a scuff or tape, but sometimes the tape just does not stick.
What would be my best approach from here. The bat feels totally dry, no extra oil.
Please advice!

i like to wipe over with some paper towel just to make sure no residue is left, then if its still struggling some fine sand paper, usually around the 320-500 grit just to give the scuff something to catch on.
Also can come back to what scuff you are using, cheap stuff doesn't tend to stick as well.

Agree with above, if using oil then leave for a few days to a week and then using a kitchen towel or such wipe over the bat lightly just to remove any small residues and then give a very fine sand I'd say p400-p600 just to key the surface and give the scuff and tape something to cling on to

The scuff I use sticks after a few hours, sometimes minutes. Most I've ever meeded to leave a bat after oiling or refinishing/polishing after a refurb is overnight
