Has anyone ever found that perfect bat?
Is it out there?

I think I am still looking. Guess it gives me a reason to keep buying lol. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as the "perfect" bat. I would think every bat will have some pros and cons and you just have to find the bat which has the fewest cons. Would be interesting to hear if anyone does feel they have the "perfect" bat.

What I have found is that I am constantly struggling between what I want and what works for me. Obviously most people want a bat that pings everywhere and picks up like a feather. I really like bats with a mid to high middle but my style of play means I hit lower down on my bat 99% of the time. Really tough when I see an almost perfect bat but the middle is just too high or its just too heavy, which means I would never get the most out of the bat. Just my thoughts  :D

I'm using a Hunts County Pro in a Rev Turbo profile. It has great pickup and rebound.

It's keeping a H4L on the sidelines and the great thing is I've got another Hunts Pro waiting in the wings.

And to think I tried to sell it on here.

Anything made by Marcus or Matt has been perfect for me so far. Good communication is the key to good bats, these two are the easiest to speak to and they provide what you like! It's a pleasure to speak to Marcus! He'll talk to you about your game and make you what you need!! Jake has been a very good person to sort stuff with Matt! Got everything I asked for and more through @Vitas Cricket

Lively feeling when you get a bat that just suits perfectly isn't it!!

I'm desperately trying to find another! Having started the season with 1 I'm up to three when the latest arrives! Hopefully one of these suits well!

I have two bats niether is perfect custom made Hawk its light picks is great high  long middle but at 2lb 4 lacks power.
Warner off the shelf Kaboom at 2-9  as plenty of power but can't swing it  also find it unweldy and are currently considering reducing the toe aiming for a weight of 2lb 6 or 7 ounce.

I used to have the perfect bat. Perfectly ruler straight grains, blemish free, 70mm spine that ran from the bottom of the splice to the toe, 50mm edges. Long forgiving middle the smashed any ball to the fence, would even hit the gaps without even trying.

All this and weighed only 2.9. But I ordered 2.8 so had to move it on.😜

I use several bats during a season weighing from 2.6-2.12, the weight makes absolutely no difference for me personally. they all perform well. My lack of ability/form is the only variable.

My perfect bat would have to be an extra wide one the way I'm playing at the moment.

To replicate how I was seeing them yesterday, try hitting a squash ball with a bamboo cane :(

Keep going mate play as straight as possible early on and try to 'get in' if that means watching a few go by outside off you normally want to hit watch them go past.
Things will turn around.and really really watch the ball.

I've been lucky to have had a few perfect bats

My old ace grade two was special
Before that my DF magnum was also very very nice

More recently, I've had an affinity toro that was too good , it was almost dangerous in the way the ball rebounded off it.
My sons old affinity carbine was also super special, 2.7 with a huge middle/sweet spot and featherlight pickup.

But, my all time favourite is my old laver
I shaved the huge spine and edges to get the bat down to 2.9 and ended up scoring more in one season than is done in the previous ten, it was that good.

The only thing with super special bats, is they tend to not last for ever
No matter how hard you try to look after them, all it takes is one cheap and nasty ball to wreck it.

I've also had a truly special bat from a good friend, that I managed to split in half!
Not before I'd scored a few with it, and realised pros really do get special bats, that bear little to the ones joe public can buy

I think in the last 5 years the bat that just 'felt right' and had a wonderful middle was the h4l hellfire I picked up on here and used for a few nets and this season. On Saturday it split in half. So yes @Northern monkey sods law says if it's that good it wont last  :)

Massive thanks to @simonmay5 for offering to send me one of his bats to use. Legend !   :)

My current bat SS TON Gladiator, weighing 2.8.0 is my best bat. Picks up like a dream, and ping is the best among all bats I had. I also had a GM flare 505 which pings amazing except at very low down, however since most of the bowlers i bat against pitch up an awful lot, its a shame i cant use it and get maximum result. The Gladiator sends those full pitched ones to their rightful place :), not to mention the short stuff as well.

I have to mention that in comparing pings of bats, we need to compare bats with similar weights. It has been my observation that for the good brands, the heavier bats will always ping good even for their low end models. So the real challenge is to have a bat that you can pick up easily (i.e. 2.8 for someone like me) and still have good ping. I had a Slazenger Jack Kallis ultimate which had one of the best and longest middles. However, due to its weight at 2.10 (heavy for me) and not having the best pickup, I couldn't use it..
