Title: Best grip for a Fearnley refurb?

So I'm refurbishing a DF Attack! with Ian Botham. I believe it originally had a red diamond grip, so I was thinking of putting one (well, two) back on, because that would be the most sympathetic thing to do as far as restoring an old classic goes.
But if I ever want to play with it, the diamond grips are a bit...rubbish. Mind you, Botham seemed to cope pretty well with one. 😀
Thoughts? And any sponsor who could rustle a couple up if needed?
