Not a bat for the purists this one - but having been inspired by @avkrish - here, in all it's glory is my Tusker clone.
It weighs in at around 2.9lbs, it has modest, old fashioned 25mm edges and a 60mm spine at it's highest point. It's not meant to be an exact copy of the old Tusker, more a modern interpretation. All the notches and scoops don't massively enhance the pick up, but I like it, so yah boo sucks!
It has a nice, interesting face and John has finished it beautifully. It picks up surprisingly well, better than my old Tusker did, and feels equally great stroking elegant drives and essaying ferocious pulls in front of the bedroom mirror.
In short, John has produced exactly what I wanted, despite my constant interference - he's put it through his knocking in machine and I have to say the response is excellent, so I'm well chuffed as I think it's pretty much good to go.
Here are the lovely pics, click on them to make them bigger-

I saw this on the Red Ink Twitter feed. I think it's brilliant.

Wow!!! The wait is over; I was as impatient as you were. Guess it was worth the wait :).

Glad you are pleased with it. Sorry it took a little longer than anticipated but glad it was worth the wait. This is the second one I've made, I must admit I do enjoy making this shape. Nice to work on things a little different every now and then
I always recommend a few throw downs first and possibly a touch more knocking in if needed. The machine certainly takes 90% of the work out of knocking but it won't hurt to do a little more in the key areas once you have assessed the throw downs.

I have seen tusker stickers on ebay recently too I think.

Lovely piece of work John! Plus a good call Mr Cattus!

Oh my that is magnificent. Reminds me of a shot tray.

Love the toe up shot
-
That looks fantastic @FattusCattus. Great work John.

Anyone seen the Aldred Rhino? Surely Tusker influenced?

He got called out on it when he first put the profile up, and still had the cheek to claim it was coincidence...

Genuine question are bat shapes protected with copyright or something similar? Apologies if this has already been asked/ answered.

Tricky to enforce something like that as a 10% change would circumvent most things. The scoop probably the only exception that’s obviously pretty unique in terms of design.

Thanks, Tom. Interesting and difficult area. I guess it relies on people's sense of right and wrong unless it's something very distinctive.
