We have revamped our Series range, and I have been playing about with the visual to display the shape and the middle position - what do you think of the below. Do you think it conveys both clearly?
DB1

DB2

DB3

good idea, easy to see.
-
I like it. I think it makes it both quicker and more simple to determine where the middle of the bat is at a glance.
-
I would think that the yellow band towards the toe would be shorter in length as the spine height is reducing meaning less meat?
-
Streaky, without wanting to divert attention away from the wood, will there be a softs/WK update from you fellas at some point?
Cheers
-
that's a really nice visual aid when looking at profiles, took me a few seconds to work it out but looks good :)
-
Db3
I'm liking that profile a lot,
-
DB3 is very interesting. I like the new representation. Guessing "red" zone means the area of max value for the shot followed by "orange" and then "yellow".
@The Doctor => How much of a departure are these from the existing profiles ? Will DB2 continue to be a full profile bat ? Will DB1 continue to be concave profile for light pick up ?
-
DB3 looks amazing. Can we order these now? Or are they out next season?
-
Excellent idea to show to customers, maybe it's because I'm looking in my phone at the moment but can there a be a box on the side that shows how much concaving as well.
Also great to hear from you as been a bit quite since Dave moved away from the forum
-
Good stuff, Doc.
Perhaps a horizontal line at a fixed point across each profile would help to compare spine heights. On the other hand, it may look a bit too cluttered. 😕
-
looks good @The Doctor .. though maybe replace that box on the right, with a picture of the concaving.
-
Any new sticker designs
-
great idea certainly makes it quite clear and easy to understand and see the difference between the shapes
-
looks good and helps the buyer
-
I like it alot, and agree diagram showing concaving also
-
DB3 has changed. Was edge below spine and now it's spine peak below edge peak. I like this design a lot more. @Doctor you'll need to throw a revamped series video up on YouTube comparing the three. The profiles all look fantastic.
-
Does anyone else find that the absolute peak of a bat's performance is just below the spine's highest point? It always seems to be this way for me.
-
I like these a lot keep the diagram on all bats you do even the bespoke ones to make it clearer where the yellow and orange bits are
-
I can only echo what others have said and think the diagram colours is a really good way of showing customers what they are in fact buying. Photos like yours is something others should take and use, as regularly you just see the technical language being used and would cater for all people.
-
Great visual representation, maybe also include a similar front-on diagram to show the size of the edge.
-
Love this representation - pointless to most of us - perhaps you could find a way of marking out which area of the edge is best?!

In the pipe line, with some more exciting stuff

I think the diagrams are great, but in conjunction with pictures of actual bats, as I think for me it is easier to compare with what I have used and got on with, with pictures of actual bats. The profile definitely is better as a photo than a diagram, as I typically feel for me the profiles that are concaved, look more so in the diagrams than actuality. Further a slight side issue, pictures of a larger range of your bats on your website would be great, as again I find it hard to buy from a diagram.
But just my opinion, might be different for others.
-
Completely agree, photos of actual bats would help a lot as I've noticed that the DB1 looks different online than in real life. So possibly, for customs and series bats, photos would help a buyer more as they can acctually see what they're buying.
-
It will certainly stop all of the questions regarding middle positions of bats but an actual photo of the bat would accompany the diagram nicely along with a profile shot of the spine/ back of the bat

Looking forward to those videos !!
